6" Iron Man 2 mark VI mod
6 Attachment(s)
Here's a mod I did to the Wal-mart exclusive figure to make him more interesting.
I added LEDs to the eyes and chest with a switch in the back, straightened out the 'repulsor firing' hands to be completely open, carved out from behind the chest plate and took a little off the top of the torso so he could bend forward some and articulated the ankles. Since I had another 6" IM2 mk.VI figure, I used the back off it to make the panel to cover the batteries on this one as well as replace the set of straightened hands so I hand a full set of hands. Afterwards, I added a wash to the figure to darken panel lines and add a little depth. Even though I consider this one 'finished' I am contemplating a system to light up the hands but still make them interchangeable. It's definitely a tough one to figure out. |
Nice job.
When you guys say "wash" a figure, what do guys normally use to give the "wash" effect? |
A wash is basically paint that has been thinned down a lot, enough so that it runs into lines and pools into the valleys of whatever you are painting. Plus afterward you can wipe off the excess and just leave behind the paint in those lines and valleys. There are a few tutorials on youtube about them.
Check out 'panel line' or 'panel lining' tutorials for different methods since panel lining is a form of wash. |
Thanks for the tip!
