Mandarin Marvel Legends

Does anybody have any information on the Marvel Legends Iron Man 3 Mandarin figure? I am curious as to what is happening with that wave.

Iceman 11-15-2013 10:14 PM

Originally it said something like it would be an Ultron variant/swap maybe. No one has heard of that thing as far as I know. My guess is Habsro saw the movie and scrapped a figure that wasn't a real villain.

Serious Lee 11-16-2013 12:21 AM

My personal opinion is that the third wave will still make it out, Hasbro made no announcement of its cancellation, and they recently had the opportunity. I also believe these will be harder to get, the first two waves are still on the shelves, as if they made a lot, I'm not sure that they'll produce the same amount and it's because of the Mandarin figure itself, not the character. IMO it's hideous, but I'll still pick up one of each if they're available to me. Rumour has it that the mand. body would be good for a custom Red Skull. My apologies if that was too long winded

Shin Densetsu 11-16-2013 01:39 AM

All I remember is that it's in a wave with Rescue and War Machine(Iron Patriot repaint). Hope it makes it out soon as it's almost the end of the year.

I'd pick them up. Especially the Rescue figure. That looks great!

Well just recently switching to Legends I'm looking forward to all of them even Mandarin who will at least be a placeholder in my Legendsverse since the old face off version is so expensive.

COMIC Mandarin definitely needs a redo, the Face Off one is so stiff due to the soft plastic robe over the body, with that on it can barely move! Plus the paint rubs off too easily.

Rescue

Sorry to be "that guy" and bump an older thread, but has anyone heard any news about the Rescue/Mandarin wave? I couldn't care less about Mandarin, but I really want to add Rescue to my collection. At this point, I feel certain that these figures have gone the way of Blade, Dani Moonstar, modern Rogue, AvX Cyclops, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting :P
Plus, with Hasbro releasing so much info lately on the new Spidey and Cap waves, I feel even more certain that this IM wave will never actually hit stores. Oh well, maybe we'll get that Rescue figure when IM4 (inevitably) hits theaters in a couple years, lol.

There's 2 versions of the faceoff Mandarin, the regular version is yellow and green, where as the variant is red and yellow. The regular version you can snag loose or in a lot sometimes for cheap, just need to keep an eye out. The variant, however still commands big $$ like $50+ loose. I have the regular version, and honestly figure sucks. The body is good, but the costume is 1 piece rubber that doesn't allow you to pose the figure at all, so for the most part he has his hands stretched out like he's doing snow angels. The new one will be a nice change. I really hope they do this line.

IndyMOS 12-17-2013 11:51 PM

I was looking forward to getting that repainted War Machine figure. A good time for them to have come out would've been with the Blu-ray/DVD release. But it seems less and less likely they're going to be released, at least for now.

warmachine6 12-18-2013 03:16 AM

I'm thinking January or February but i can check like every so often I might ask my comic book store or they appear out of nowhere during 2014 keep your eyes open people !

Exodus 12-18-2013 10:08 AM

IMO I don't think these will hit retail at all or even online stores. Just look at the ML Wolverine for the movie, 1 wave, and then they said they were going to release the variants out to regular retail, but still haven't heard anything on it. IM3 movie has been out for a while, you would think they would have released it when the DVD/Blu-Ray came out...if not after when the movie was still in theaters.

That wolverine wave for me @ my comic store they said it will likely come out in January because it's diamond and they get most of there stuff. and captain america February o.O IM3 you might be correct have died which is a dam shame if it is.

bman 01-10-2014 04:55 PM

The wave was supposed to be:
1. War Machine repaint
2. Gold Ultron
3. Rescue
4. Mandarin
From what I hear (in my parts) is that it has been cancelled and only a few gold ultrons made it out. But hey we can keep hoping.

Gold Ultron had nothing to do with this wave in the end

Super Alloy is making those figures in 6'' scale, and diecast but are going to be $120-$200 range
