The Best Toy Biz Marvel 10" Deluxe Figures

Back in the mid-late 90's Toy Biz started to make 10" deluxe Marvel figures. Do yoou guys remember them? They were basically 2-ups of the existing 5" figures but some were substantially different. Some got repainted in deco that never showed up in the 5" line and some had different parts altogether.

For example, the 5" Battle Ravaged Wolverine lacked elbow joints meanwhile the 10" one had elbow joints while ditching the action gimmick. That's how the 5" figure should've been all along!

I don't think these have high prices on the aftermarket as they were readily available for years. I remember seeing a bunch of these at KB Toys back in the day. I favor them over Hasbro's Titan Heroes because at least the Toy Biz versions were appropriate for their time and usually had more articulation than Hasbro's Titan Heroes.

So what are the best Toy Biz Marvel 10" deluxe figures? List them here!

The only one I had was Cyclops. Could never find the 5" version that had the show costume as a kid. I used to pretend he was a giant or much suit the other X-Men used.

I still see these at random flea markets and Swap Meets. Mainly Mr Sinister, Gambit, Wolverine or a Spider-Man.

I always wanted the Carnage one but I've never seen it in person, even at toy shows...no sightings whatsoever.

The Omega Red looked pretty good.

anyone have a list of the 10" figs? I'm wondering if any of them would be suited for custom sentinels. or larger charactures in the MU line. and dose it piss anybody else off that every time you get a ML showdown figure on ebay for a ridiculous price it has a KB toys sticker on it for like 2.99!

Much of this line I picked up back in the 90's at KB when they were selling for about 5.99 a piece which was a decent deal even back then. Although a lot of these were easy ways to make more money off of an existing mold (yes they were essentially just production versions of a 2-up paintmaster) there are some examples of unproduced heads that came out of the line which we would not have seen otherwise.

Most of my 10" collection is still boxed away, these are the ones that I have picked up loose. I can't give you an exact number of how many different figures were in this scale but if I had to guesstimate I would put it between 75-100.

I remember having Iron Man (none of the crazy armours, but the basic '90s Shellhead from the cartoon), Mandarin, & Doctor Doom. They were great figures! I appreciated the hole on Iron Man's left shoulder where you could plug his gun into it, ala War Machine!

They make for fun toys and great display pieces. I should've bought them back in the day but at the time, I was craving more and more articulation and was starting to stray away from the 5" lines.

Is that a brown costume Battle Ravaged Wolverine I see in your display?

Spyne98 04-06-2014 07:57 AM

^^Sweet display.
I had a few back in the day. Sold them all a few years back when decided to only keep my Marvel Legends. I remember have a Ben Riley Spider-Man. He could be posed in a lot of different ways. I used to hang him upside down from the light in my room.

I remember having Beast, Daredevil, a Iron Man, two Wolverines, and a Carnage. The only one I still have in good condition with all accessories is Carnage, but for whatever reason Carnage's head looks like Vengeance's head.
