TMNT Any news on a Karai Figure

Really like the line of toys from the show but still wondering when a Karai figure
is going to be released . She is central to the plot line and is in about 75 pct of the shows . Be a killer figure to add to the line just my feeling .

Joe Moore 04-15-2014 10:36 AM

Moved to correct forum.

Borngreen 04-15-2014 11:34 AM

thanks

cidman911 04-15-2014 06:13 PM

Seems like Playmates is another company that believes "girl toys don't sell in boy toy lines".

It's frustrating because that 2007 Karai figure was impossible to find and goes for a ton of money on eBay now. I've asked Playmates on Twitter when they'll release one for the Nickelodeon line but no answer from them.

Bradsdadg 04-15-2014 08:33 PM

Someone asked the question to Playmates on their Facebook page. All they said was that the plan for a Karai figure is for next year. But no info as to what wave...Right now there are no more figures coming out until the Fall, unless you count the movie merch.

Borngreen 04-15-2014 08:42 PM

Next year ? See that makes no sense to me as she is vital to the story line I mean she's splinters daughter . As I said she 's in almost all of the episodes . She looks super cool and kicks butt and is a Ninja . its not a girly type character or figure . Ugh thats frustrating seeing the figures they are passing over her for . Almost all of them are one episode wonders . Playmate its like Kenner not making princess lea good thinking guys!

Borngreen 04-15-2014 08:48 PM

We should start a petition to get her made lol

They basically have run out of characters from the show to make and in doing so past over one of the best figures they could have made for the series unreal.

Bradsdadg 05-20-2014 07:22 AM

It's kind of bumming me out that we have to wait until the Fall for anything new now. I have actually turned to other collectibles until they start coming out again...

It had me thinking though, I wish they would make a Krang figure in the businessman look. That would be a cool one.

Ninjinister 05-20-2014 12:28 PM

Unconfirmed, but someone allegedly got an answer from Playmates on upcoming figures and one of them listed was "Mutant Karai".

Oh boy. I wonder if she happens to be in close proximity to a turtle when/if she mutates...

SHE BE VENUS, YO.

Kidding. Maybe.

I could see that happening. Especially now that they revealed that tidbit about April in the Baxter fly episode.

It'd make sense to instead explore that story line with splinter's daughter on the entire mutated and needs to be cured aspect while a turtle is crushing on her. Even more fitting if she is a turtle herself.

Though I'd expect if that is the route they go, in this instance she may not want to be cured or at some point likes how it enhances her ninja abilities but Splinter wants her to be cured instead.

I don't know. I'm really digging the idea of her as Venus now that you say that. xD Plus I do want a Venus figure to go with the main show 4 I have, and that'd be the only way to get one that'd match up to them in aesthetic.

They still need to do a normal Karai figure though. She's too bad ass to not have both. (Plus it makes for a great two pack fodder later too! Like a store or con exclusive!)

Are you serious? I had a hard time selling her for $10 about two years ago.

The two morons reps who were from palmate at Comic con who look like lovers
Said when finally confronted with the "why no karai figure still ? " They said Oh we will listen to fans if they want one . The interviewer was like well everyone wants one so? The scumbag Queen says WELL lets see how the mutant figure sells first ! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT !!!!!
Great call on the Dojo Splinter lol two complete clueless losers .

Snowflakian 09-30-2014 01:42 AM

With the recent reveal of the mutated Karai, we may get a human figure of her in the wave or two after. They do have a basis for her head now and with her mutation being more towards a "were-mutant" there's still shelf room for a normal figure of her.

Story-wise, I could see them approaching it as her current form(which is rather poetic with the setup and what her dad is!) to then going to Venus when trying to be cured because her mutation was chemically altered to be a were-mutant, but not anytime soon. The "were-mutant" theme seems to be one they'll explore for awhile and I hope so! It presents some fun opportunities and could be dabbled with on some other new character creations too. Plus it kind of nods that CBS season. I'm really digging how they've managed to intertwine nods from everything the turtles have been in with this series! It should really generate some more interesting toys in the future too!

They've also semi-sorta hinted at the extra mutated forms for the turtles at a later point. It's set up at least for when they want to use that story but not sure where or when they will actually dive into it if they do since it involves dosing the turtles with mutagen again.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Venus at some point! But not sure what kind of story they'll use for her. At this point, it seems the most logical would be an "evil" turtle team and she switches sides. Potentially all of them cured except for her or something. It'd seem like something shredder would do now that Karai has gone rogue. A more direct 'seeking vengence against splinter and his family' type setup. The problem with that though is they'd lack the same amount of training Karai and the Turtles have had. Venus needs to be someone that's on par with them. (Maybe a local dojo's prodigy or something?)

Dude thats BS don't get behind what these crooks are doing . There is absolutely NO excuse for not having a Karai figure out by now NONE what so ever ! She is one of the KEY characters in the story line and has been from almost the start. Not to mention they have made so many BS figures WE could have done with out . I mean Dojo splinter WTF is that ? EVERYONE true TMNT fans want this figure . There doing figures that have been in ONE episode really? Your telling me thats what the fans want ? Making the snake Kari figure then saying under his breath "Yes we listen to the fans but we will see how this figure sells first " Is complete 100 PCT BS ! Who are these two queens making the figure for them or US the fans? Its real easy to see at this point they are trying to stall so hopefully we just forget the character and these queens can move on to the next MALE figure . I can tell you for certainty if that figure comes out it WILL be the most sought after figure they have released hands down! I can't even imagine how much they will be selling for on Ebay when they first come out . I mean tiger claw was selling for over 50.00 for a few weeks and thats is no where near the demand this has

I'd like a human Karai figure as much as the next collector, but a rant filled with name-calling, leaps in logic and playing the "true fan" card?

They're just toys. No need to blow a gasket.

This.

I'd love to see a Karai figure done just as much as the next person. It'll happen. I have faith in Playmates. If not...oh well. It wouldn't be the first time a key character to a toy line was never released in figure form before it's end. (No NECA Shredder? Party Foul!) Thankfully, I still have my version of her from the movie.

If you're that impatient...take this as food for thought. I'm a fan of Marvel Legends...and in particular....Spider-Man...and I've been waiting nearly 20 YEARS for a Mary Jane Watson or a Gwen Stacy figure in 6 inch scale. There's no plans to make them anytime soon, and outside of Spidey's uncle and aunt, you could argue that there are no two characters more important to his story than those two lovely ladies. I'm sure there are several others out there who share my pain...
