Alien 3 Xeno by NECA
|
what's wrong with the peg hole around the belly and crotch?

I just got into NECA's Alien line a few months ago. I would not mind adding this to it.
|
I wonder when we'll get a peek at their Ripley figure or any planned variants. It's been 2-3 months now since NECA announced they acquired Weaver's likeness rights, though I'm sure they had already secured those rights much earlier than the official announcement, otherwise why sculpt and display the powerloader at February's Toy Fair when it's clearly meant to be paired with a Ripley figure? So I bet Ripley has has already been sculpted. Hopefully we'll see something at SDCC in July.

I'd like to see a standard Aliens one and a variant in her Nostromo uniform.

If they have the approved likeness, they should milk it for all its worth and do versions of Ripley from Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection too. Ideally we should get:
Alien - Nostromo jumpsuit (I bet this is the figure that Jonesy the cat will come with. Jonesy was already teased at 2013's SDCC Neca display) Alien - Nostromo spacesuit (just put a new head on the existing sculpted spacesuit from the scene at the end of the film) Alien - Tanktop and panties (hehe... wishful thinking?) Aliens - standard outfit (this one is probably coming first so we have a figure to put in the power loader. Sure do wish we could get a Newt figure to go with her) Alien 3 - Bald Ripley (so we have someone to pose with this new dog alien figure) Alien Resurrection - Ripley Clone All of them could just keep re-using the same headsculpt, with different sculpted hairstyles. I hope NECA has the sense to make the most out of the likeness rights so that we can get every incarnation of Ripley in figure form. Also, wouldn't it be great if the head was compatible with Mattel's Dana Barret figure from their Ghostbusters line and easy to do a headswap? Ripley's hairstyle from the first Alien movie is close enough to her Ghostbuster's hair, so it would be great to put that head on the Dana figure and have a more accurate/less generic Sigourney likeness on that figure. |

I bet they will use the same headsculpt for all versions of her.
And technically, regardless of the age of the actress in the first film versus the 2nd film, the CHARACTER didn't age at all since she was cryogenically frozen from the end of ALIEN to the beginning of ALIENS. The only difference should be the hairstyle. :) |

Since NECA bases their movie line stuff solely on character licenses/likenesses, Newt makes no sense. They can get away with not having Peter Weller as Robocop, but a generic Newt figure makes no sense, financially. It's not majorly in-demand character.
|
As much as I might want a Newt, she is at the bottom of the list for me. I want BURKE( need some Paul Reiser), Drake, Apone, Vasquez, Gorman, then maybe some Frost, Ferro, Crowe, Deitrict, Wiersbowski, and last but not least...Spunkmeyer.
