Sideshow Announces Darth Vader Legendary Scale Figure

Sideshow has the ability to make these purchases seem affordable and not out of reach with their flex payment plan. "Come on, you can afford this! It's only $84 a month.....for 2 years."

I actually think it's a good practice on their part. It's cheaper than dropping the whole purchase price onto a credit card as Sideshow isn't adding interest into the payment plan. It gives people who may not have $1000+ in one shot a chance to own a high end item without doubling the price through credit.

I think it's smart for Sideshow, but not always smart for the consumer because it does tend to give the illusion to some that things are more affordable than they really are.

If buying something frivolous like this without FlexPay would mean putting it on credit, you can't really afford it and probably shouldn't buy it, IMO. If, on the other hand, you'd just like to avoid one huge bill in favor of smaller monthly payments, FlexPay is certainly a nice option to have.
