Marvel Legends Avengers 2 what to expect [not figures , but what they could look like]

First Official Avengers: Age Of Ultron Movie Images - Movies - MarvelousNews.com

So viewing the link above we get more of a look on what Avengers 2 Characters costumes would look like ?

I'm mostly excited to see Captain America , hawkeye and widow although at the end of the day depends who they release as figures my line up i think are:

Wave 1 [judging by captain america wave] so basically 9 figures to complete the set

Hulk or Ultron BAF

-Captain America , Thor , Iron-man , HULK [if not baf] ,

Wave 2
- Hawk eye , Quicksilver , Scarlet witch , Black widow , Ultron [might be a re-lease of the IM3 one?].

Possible variants: Vision [swap with ultron] war machine [swap with IM]

Though having said movie characters i would be interested if we comic versions figures rather than movie figures i.e Marvel now Captain America etc which might consist of 4 movie figures and 5 comic figures not sure hopefully SDCC will reveal all plus its coming in MAY 1st

Iceman 07-16-2014 01:02 PM

They could easily repack the already made Mark 42 IM for both a 6" and 3.75" line. Of course he will have new armor in the movie at some point.

Serious Lee 07-16-2014 02:51 PM

Judging by the movie poster with Ultron in the back, I hope there will be a BAF figure of him about 7.5 inch, with some detail (hoping). I really cannot see an MS version again so soon after their last offering.

Other than the usual cases of extra Cap's and Tony's, this will likely be two waves for ML, or maybe 4 swaps after the first case. It would be great to get that new War Machine, and a new Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in pseudo classic looks (unlikely), but the rest will be what they will be. It would also be great to get that Hawkeye they had shown at last years SDCC (or was it the year before?)

With regards to many of the other shown, but unreleased figs, I'm not holding my breath, as there won't be much room left in the line-up. That is of course if we get Falcon, another Black Widow or any other villain that may make an appearance.

Whew! Lots of possibilities for Hasbro here, and they will undoubtedly be raked over the coals, but without this being 3 waves I don't see every character in the film getting a figure made (at least not right away).

All that being said, I can't wait to see it!!

Oops! How did I forget Hulk?! And Vision too?? Wow!

It would really be great actually if they did 3 waves of 6 figues each and mix 2 or 3 BAF's into them...but I'm sure the figures are already planned, so I guess I'll just wait and see...

En Sabah Nerd 07-16-2014 03:20 PM

I figure Hulkbuster Iron Man would be the build a figure and Ultron would just be a figure. Unless they scrapped the Hulkbuster idea for the movie, dunno.

Serious Lee 07-16-2014 09:44 PM

As if I forgot about Hulkbuster armor!!

I'm sorry to break it to the rest of you, but senility starts to set in at 42.

We might see a toy repack of that and the Tony figure. But the MK 42 is destroyed in Ironman 3 so I doubt we'll see it in film. Considering why Tony does suit up in the movie, I doubt we'll see something like MK 42's suit up protocol too. Since that's predominantely a carrier wave based technology that can be hijacked by someone familiar with the workings of his network protocols...

The newest suit looks like a slight recolor of the mk 42 though with red on the chest instead. Considering how the story seems to play out, it looks like we might see an Ultron drone and a Tony stark figure before maybe Ironman himself. Though I could see them repacking an old ironman figure in as filler for the 4'' line at least before the new armor hits. Smart thing would be to have the new armor as wave 2, while Tony Stark himself is wave 1.

Kind of hoping the Avengers 2 4'' line goes something like:

Wave 1:
New Cap
New Hawkeye
Widow (New hair sculpt at minimum)
Ultron drone
Tony Stark
Bruce Banner

Wave 2:
Quicksilver
Scarlet witch
War Machine
New Ironman
Maria Hill
Ultron

Wave 3:
Final Ultron form
Vision
Hulkbuster (possibly a repack, but could be new mold too!)
Hulk
Ant-man (because it's doubtful he'll get his own line, so why not a one off preview figure!)
War Machine repainted as Iron Patriot

But then again, I only plan on buying new costumes and or new characters.

Though I am curious if they'll do an avengers tower play set. I expect the extra stuff will be drone tied somehow initially. Villians would be nice too if they do indeed cameo quite a few.

Considering how well the Avengers line did before though, maybe we'll get lucky and they will include some comic series again as a build up. Not sure since the market is fluctuating pretty extremely lately. A 3 wave cover all the bases of the film approach seems the most logical.

Legends will probably follow a similar pattern, but slimmed down. Like a BAF vision or ultron or hulkbuster, or even a BAF preview ant-man figure, and then the new costumes/characters while anyone that hasn't changed may either get previous mold re-usage or be skipped entirely.

Serious Lee 07-17-2014 05:38 AM

I like your idea about a BAF Antman, I think that would be very cool, if it came with a shrunk down version as well.....

warmachine6 07-17-2014 05:58 AM

I'm thinking Ant-man movie will have a smaller wave like THOR and Capt.America 1st avenger did
also hoping for Baron von strucker , comic or movie fig

En Sabah Nerd 07-17-2014 02:18 PM

I hope, and this is more about the movie than the toys, that Rhodey is War Machine and not the Iron Patriot. The move to make Rhodey the patriot always particularly bothered me because in the source material the IP is Norman Osborn and a villain, not Iron Man's BFF. I also don't want two patriotic American themed characters on one team, it rubs me weird. They could use the IP shell and have it painted into the WM colors, like so many figures did, or revert to IM2 WM. Just my thoughts on Rhodey being in the movie.

it should be cause wasn't iP affiliated with AIM who was ran by killian so technically and logically he should oh and he needs about 6 rocket launchers as well like the comics getting upset about the 1 Gatling gun

Iceman 07-17-2014 07:24 PM

The armor we've seen so far is basically the exact same thing as the Mark 42. I mean, he had an armor trashed in Avengers that we same him wearing in IM3 and completely rebuilt the Mark II just for the display case. Whether they call it Mark 42 or 43 doesn't really matter since the point is they can use the same toy, and probably will. I imagine it would be welcomes in 3.75" line but not a 6" one.

VashTS 07-17-2014 07:44 PM

I can tell that Hasbroo will skimp. They still cannot scan character faces properly.

Maybe they will implement paint shading/detailing/wash by Avengers2? They will have had 9 years by then.

It's entirely possible that certain actors haven't allowed them to use their exact face and the figures have to look a bit different. I know I was reading something about that the other day where only a select few makers were allowed to attempt to replicate the actor's face. Maybe it would cost Hasbro more to get the rights to use Chris Evans real face so they skip it since no one cares.

Doubtful unless there's a lot of colorful stuff in the film. So far it's seeming like there's only one costume at all and Ant-Man doesn't quite have the same iconic rogues gallery outside of Ultron as Captain America. So it would essentially be one movie figure and the rest all comic based. Though it would be nice to have all the ant-man suits made from the comics alongside who wore them. Ditto to Wasp. The villians are the main issue. Egghead doesn't exactly seem like a figure kids would buy. So that leaves drawing upon stuff like Avengers Academy, Jocasta, and similar.

War Machine is Iron Patriot now in the comics. Though I'm not sure if he'll be War Machine or IP in Avengers 2. Since the Avengers aren't government tied(and Tony does keep getting in trouble with the Government), it may become a two suit setup. War Machine with the Avengers, IP with Government military sanctioned ops. There's a whole story point that could be created from IP with the avengers by itself because of how Rhodey is in the service and it may be frowned upon that his Patriot armor endorses the actions of the Avengers(when you look at it from a press perspective).

I listed him as IP and as War Machine because we do need an update of both in that scale for the movie-verse. Not sure which the movie will have.

ChuckSass 07-17-2014 09:34 PM

I don't think you'll get Scarlett and Quicksilver. even Widow or Hawkeye

Thor
Ironman
Cap
Hulk
Ultron
Hulkbuster BAF

thats your line

Serious Lee 07-17-2014 10:51 PM

@ Chucksass

How can you crush my dreams?? Lol

Is a case pack out better with Ironman's and Cap's? Or is it better to have the extras Hawkeye's and Ultrons?
