Avengers: Age Of Ultron 3.75 Figure Speculation

Based on the last few MCU movie lines, and the fact we've got at least 15 reappearing/new to AOU characters who will we see in 3.75" form?

My guess (In no particular order):
Tony Stark (Iron Man 3 Repack with no Arc Reactor)
Thor (T:TDW Repack)
Hulk (Possible Avengers Repack)
Black Widow (Slightly changed Avengers Repack)
New Hawkeye
New Captain America
Scarlet Witch
Quicksliver
Vision
Mark 43
Nick Fury (Avengers Repack)
Ultron
Ultron Drone

Sets:
Iron Man - Tony, Rhodey/Iron Patriot, Hulkbuster
Avengers - Captain America (Unmasked), Thor, Hawkeye (Variant costume)
Hulk - Bruce Banner & Hulk
SHIELD - Maria Hill, Black Widow, Nick Fury
Ultron - 1st, 2nd & Final version

We'd like them to have the same articulation as Iron Man 2, Thor & CA:TFA but it'll probably be the same as the first Avengers (No wrist, ankles or waist.)

I hope we get fairly equal movie and comic series figures. Particularly both comic and movie figures of Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Vision. Granted each of those characters have figures from MU already, I'd like to see some different comic costumes for these characters.

After the New York Times outed Hasbro for dropping the ball on 3.75" figures to Hasbro's shareholders just last month.... I don't see a 3.75" line happening at all. MAYBE a 5 P.O.A. but my guess would be something similar to what they are doing with GotG right now....2.5" and those 5" silly Happy Meal toy-esque 'battlers' type gimmicky things.

here are my 5 reasons why I feel we will not get any 3.75" love this round....

1. Same story to Hasbro and retailers, they STILL have Ironman, Cap and Thor sitting and NOT selling.

2. As we know, the new team that replaced Vonner have said publicly that they prefer 6" to 3.75" and the recent 6" line with baf have and are doing well.

3. Their shareholders are not happy about the last few lines and all the kids already have Cap, Thor IM, and the Hulk.... hard to sell the same toy twice, even if it is slightly different. Chances are...mum will say, "NO, you have one of those already...pick something else."

4. All the new stuff and sizes are doing well from the GotG movie, and it isn't even out yet,the last few movie 3.75" figures never sold even well after the films were on DVD, even now on clearance they sit.

5. I see 3.75" in general is struggling.... tell me ONE store that you can walk into and pick up Ant-Man? If they have any figures at all...they are the 5 P.O.A. IM, the final waves of MU or the IM and Cap's from MI wave 1, these have choked what life there is out of the common retail game..... it will be online from here on I'm afraid. Perhaps the occasional find here and there, but new case day at your local.... done and dusted for now.

I really hope that my speculation is wrong, I really really do. I try to stay upbeat and positive and not be the typical internet toy nerd bashing everything. Our best saving grace is that this film SHOULD be in the TOP 5 highest grossing films of ALL TIME, that being the case...we may see all sorts of toys in different shapes and sizes. As for now though my guess is, as far as 3.75" figures go, we get two things.... Jack and Shit.

(NOT hating, just saying...this is ALL just speculative and just my simple opinion)

It's a real shame, but I have to agree with you :(
Star Wars' 3.75 line has almost started to fizzle out and the last few MCU lines have been awful.

It's clearly that, the new "Avengers 2" movie will come with new characters, and Quicksilver and Scarlet Which will appear on that film, I'm not sure about The Vision as a next Avengers 2 movie character (I want that but perhaps I dont know all the information about it and maybe I have not all the information) but I think we will see (perhaps) a Baron Strucker, Scarlet Which and Quicksilver movie 3 3/4 action figures versions...

Particularly I'll try to buy all new characters 3 3/4 action figures... as long as Hasbro will decide to sell in all Europe all the figures of this collection... I mean that last "Thor 2" movie and "Wolverine Inmortal" movie have action figures not seen on Spain, on Toyshops and Big Markets surfaces... (you can find them on Comics and merchandising shops, but they are not cheap on this places and not all of the people in Spain have near one of this kind of shops).

Hey Zorro, nice to see another mediterranean on Toyark!

Here in France, I discovered that we had Marvel Infinite in Auchan stores (french K-mart) so I'd say... anything is possible!
The salvation of 3.75 line could come from Europe, if these are selling well.

Since the US prices get incredibly inflated when toys arrive in Europe (9.99$ MI and SW are sold 12.99 euros, 3.49$ Cars and Planes are 7~9.99 euros) smaller figs are less expensive, so they will sell better than the big 6" one.

Zorro Aullador 07-23-2014 04:37 AM

You also have a MarĂ*a Hill action figure in Avengers 1 action figure serie.

The figure comes with the Helicarrier big box... it must be the most difficult to see action figure of this collection.

Zorro Aullador 07-23-2014 04:50 AM

Hey, je adore lissez les BDs classiques de la Belgique et de la France: Peyo, Franquin, Morris, Herge, Uderzo et Goscinny... aussi avec les BDs americains de DC et Marvel...

Last time I was in Paris, I bought Like Cage Marvel Universe 3 3/4 action figure very cheap... I though this figure is seen everywhere there, in France and in Paris but in Spain is not seen... over all, I was happy to have both friends united again: Power Man and Iron Fist... XD

The Thor 2 figures were as good as any movie figure we've gotten really. There just weren't many of them to pick from.

jedirulz123 07-23-2014 03:50 PM

The figures were reasonable - better than Winter Soldier in sculpt and IM3 in articulation, but they weren't as good as the Avengers in sculpt, or some of the articulation

Zorro Aullador 07-23-2014 04:59 PM

"Thor 2" and "Wolverine Inmortal" movies with action figures that were not seen on Spanish Shops and Stores... somebody told me that it's because that characters were not well known on Spain but that's not true because we know Marvel Universe since early 70's and there are another films of Thor and Wolverine...

Avengers figures had no wrist swivel. Characters that use guns and bows and such with no damn wrist swivel. At least some of the Thor 2 figures have that. The sculpts on Thor 2 two were as good as anything in the Avengers line. Kurse and the Dark Elf especially but Thor and Loki were solid as well. I mean, Loki was just the Avengers figure repacked.

jedirulz123 07-26-2014 10:18 AM

Only Thor had wrist swivel, Black Widow also had Wrist Swivel.
Kurse was particularly good in sculpt, I'll give you that but so was Black Widow, Thor, Mark 7, Mark 6, oh and all the comic figures we got with Avengers.. The plastic for the Thor figures was also sub-standard as was the paint applications.

Oh, and two of the five figures we got from T:TDW were Thor.

Thought Loki did as well? Anyway, they picked their battles and it worked well. The sculpts on Kurse and Dark Elf were good enough to made up for it. Also, the fact that they didn't really need the wrist swivel. They made the right choices with the quality of those figures. The only issue was that we only got one wave but I imagine their endless waves of Thor in the first Thor line killed the possibility of more waves for the sequel.

As a side note the plastic seems to be the new standard. I'm assuming it's cheaper.

jedirulz123 07-27-2014 11:11 AM

Ok I'll let you have this one ;)

I didn't mention Loki in the T:TDW good sculpts because he was an Avengers repack
