Hotwheels Batman Returns Elite 1:43 Batmobile
I recently won an auction for a sample Hotwheels Elite 1:43 scale Batman Returns Batmobile - I usually post on TFW, but as my collecting is starting to diversify, I thought I'd pop on Toyark and start contributing here.
I hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere, apologies if I missed it. The Batmobile comes housed in the Elite Packaging, which is a black matte box with with a great shot of the car, the Batman Returns logo and the hotwheels logo in silver. Very classy :) Out of the box, the car is displayed in a plastic container with the legend posted on a black plastic base. http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse5f5438a.jpg SInce I have a glass cabinet for this sort of stuff, I usually remove the car from such boxes, so here it is free from the plastic prison: http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd8f4388b.jpg The first thing that struck me was the lovely matte finish on the vehicle - it emulates the 1:18 Hot Wheels Batmobile in favour of the standard shiny black paint job of the Hot Wheels standard 1:43 car. Detailing is superb for such a small car. Though it's hard to photograph (especially as the canopy doesn't open - an odd choice given that it does on the cheaper version) the amount of console detail is insane. You can make out paint on the leavers, gunmetal detailing and all the dials on the dash. It's a great touch, and a shame it isn't easier to view. http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps46bb1589.jpg You can just about make out the detail from the shot above. The metallic detail on the rear of the car is just as impressive, with great plastic lights, brass-coloured exhausts and turbine. For comparison, here it is with the 1:18 Batmobile: http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/z...pscf0b7107.jpg Side details and wheel alloys are a lovely mix of silver and brass, with additional silver petrol caps (actually separate pieces, not just paint apps) and of course metallic front-turbine. Overall, it's a lovely bit of kit, and I was especially lucky to score mine for £40 instead of the RRP of £69.99. I hope the above gives you a decent look at the toy - I'm not much of a photographer but I'm happy to take pictures of anything specific if people have requests. |
