Why the hell those "barbie-ish" figures ALWAYS lack on simple elbow and knee articulation?

The Titan series is meant to be an inexpensive line of large figures for kids. Adding additional articulation means adding tooling, which in turn adds to the cost, which in turn makes the figures more expensive and means they are no longer sell them for $10 - $12 each, or less in this case (just over $8 per figure).

It's not a collector friendly line, but it was never aiming to be. Star Wars is a line (maybe the only line) where you can get nearly any figure in nearly any scale, in a way that will satisfy your collecting needs. From a barely articulated 3.75" figures all the way up to "look how much money I have" quality, and everything in between.

What I don't get is does Hasbro still make these "titan" series? These things I swear shelf warm like crazy, a waste a resource and heck more dangerous cause a kid could take one of these and start hitting people with it!

Seriously that they are $10 in USA? Holy crap, here in Brazil they were like R$100 (Something like $40) at "launch".

Oh man, that's rough. Yeah, they're usually between $10 - $13 USD depending on where you buy them. The multi-packs come out to even less per figure. I definitely get your frustration now. At the prices you quoted, these are definitely not worth it (not that I would personally buy them even at $10).

they can't even sell them at $10 lol. no one wants these things. it's amazing. i mean, star wars figures aren't complex like transformers are.. so, i don't understand the dumbing down of the line.. it just completely alienates a large portion of star wars fans. i mean, when we were kids it was fine because we didn't really know any better. but now, with kids being more technologically inclined, i would assume that they're not going to want a toy with EXTREMELY limited play value.

they're losing their hold. i thought the clone wars line was perfect. the designs were cool, we got different iterations of classic characters, a ton of awesome looking troopers, and the articulation on most* of the figures was great. it was a really fun line to collect.

any figure in any scale.. yeah, except for the rebels figures which look to be only directed towards little kids.. i have yet to see a single rebels figure with modern articulation. it's a bummer that hasbro has decided to forgo innovation and regress to 5 POA figures once again. oh well.

the black series is cool and all, but after a while it gets a little stale seeing the same characters on the shelf all the time. what i'd like to see is a 6" black series general grevious. now that would be awesome. for me, it'd be a FAR more interesting figure than the greedo's and slave leia's that have been clogging the pegs for months.

i am glad that hasbro has a 6" collector friendly line. i just want a better variety, and i'm curious as to how long it's going to last.

The initial basic line has the limited articulation. Disney is going hardcore after the kiddie audience. In Hasbro's eyes, keeping the line as low cost as possible maximizes their chances of selling and selling more at a time. But nothing was ever said, that I know of, that rules out these characters and designs getting more detailed 3.75" figures. I could easily see someone like the Inquisitor showing up in the Black Series 3.75" line in the future.
