NECA Gets Interstellar License and Goes Retro

I find it strange that NECA keeps making certain characters only in their Mego line, and not the normal 7" line. They must sell, because they keep making them.

Make a TARS and I'll buy it.

I think certain ones do sell fairly well. The horror ones seem to come and go at my TRU's and LCS'. The music ones, they usually linger a bit longer. the Tayler from Planet of the Apes is hitting my local stores and I'm curious if those are going to move and how quickly.

One thing I've found interesting, is that they are using sales of the Mego style to determine if certain characters could get a 7" scale figure. Not in all cases, but I've seen NECA say it a few times.

My guess is that the Retro "Mego" style figures are cheaper to tool therefore cheaper to make. The figures all use the same body as opposed to there 7" line which requires unique body types. For some characters, I think they prefer them to look more retro due to the character's design or era they're from.
Personally, I like the 1 shot release in this style. Gives people more reason to buy this line. Not just a unique style, unique character too! I do think that Snake and George Taylor should be released in 7" scale.

Zero interest in Mego style, but the face sculpts look fairly good. Would definitely consider a 6-inch with greater detail, assuming the movie isn't lame.

Interstellar megos? This is a horrible idea.
