NECA Ships Gremlins Mogwai Series 5 To Retailers

I never found any series 4 figures with decent, aligned eyes so I passed on them. Probably pass on these too. The eye feature was probably the worst idea NECA has done. For those who like to keep these MIP, there should've been a hole in the back to adjust the eyes.

I agree about the eyes. Static eyes staring straight ahead would work fine. Furthermore, it seems wrong not to make them plush. Furry characters in general do not translate well to solid plastic. Would fur inserts really cut too much into the bottom line? It worked back in the 1960s for Troll Dolls. (Incidentally, I see that a Troll Doll movie is coming out next year. Prepare for a new army of Troll Dolls...) Rgds

The modern Apes figures they made are excellent, but I think the reason it doesn't work to just sculpt it here is because Mogwai are supposed to be cute. The apes are generally meant to look fairly vicious so they're okay with sculpted plastic, plus most apes have shorter matted down fur in reality. With these guys who should be cute you do want that plush element.

You nailed it. The NECA apes look great, but not cuddly. :D

I really hope these Mogwai lines are just a delay tactic so they can get the Female Gremlin and the Cocoon figures out. I want my Female and my Gremlin eggs.
