Help with info for a father regading 3 and 3/4 inch scale figures
So, a little help for a father here please
is the movie 3 and 3/4 inch line dead ? Looking briefly at the toy fair stuff looks like only Ant man is coming ou in this scale ? My boy has just recently gotten interested in this Marvel stuff and he likes the 3 and 3/4 inch size so I went back and bought a bunch of stuff in that size range from the previous marvel cinematic universe 3 and 3/4 inch lines. I was hoping to buy more in this range when the new movie comes out with the new characters and all but again it seems like this size class is dead ? There was no Guardians of the Galaxy in this size class either right ? I couldnt find anything at least |
it looks like Hasbro is moving away from the 3.75" figures for most of there movie related product, at least for avengers 2. Cap 2 and Thor 2 both had limited offerings (like five figures each). I do believe there is a five POA 3.75" line coming out for Avengers2 but nothing like we got for the first film. the Marvel infinite line did re-release comic versions of Starlord, Rocket, and Drax. and the infinite 3.75" line will be re-releasing a comic style Ultron in one of there upcoming waves. The speculation is that Guardians of the galaxy went to a 2" scale so they could put practical starships in scale.

Unfortunately Hasbro has pulled its support for the scale and switched attention to the 6" stuff. All their 3.75 stuff nowadays is either 5 POA and unsatisfactory to most people or it's Marvel Infinite which is hard to find, watered down from what MU was, and is based on the comics so if you're looking for new movie stuff you're out of luck. It sucks, I was really looking forward to maybe getting movie Ultron, Scarlet Witch, and Vision in 3.75" scale but Hasbro just doesn't like 3.75" collectors anymore. :(

There are indeed some AoU 5 POA 3 3/4 figures at Target.
|
Well that sucks to hear
|
It does indeed. I'm shocked and overjoyed that Hasbro's making a normal 3.75 Ant-Man instead of the current 5 POA rubbish flooding the stores.

Yet another sign of what a bad time it must be to be a child collector... fall in love with a style of figure and then end up with precious few recourses to expand your collection.

There's a new Mark 43 Iron Man figure and repaints of the Stealth Suit Cap, first Avengers movie Black Widow and Nick Fury being released as part of the Infinite Series line but at the moment it's just the 5 POA stuff.

Save yourself some time. Go on eBay grab a lot (group sale) of figures for a price you can afford. Then fill in the blanks ...you can get some figures, like captain America for like .99 fromsome china dealers. You know your child if he isn't really careful with his toys..a china dealer might be best cause they usually don't come with all there assescories..Ie.guns and stuff
