Agreed. Making all these under szed and oversized things that clog shelves seems like a lot of unneccesary costliness and wastes of plastic and money that could be spent on better things.

Snowflakian 03-16-2015 08:21 AM

Ultron and Scarlet Witch I might pick up.
Maybe 2 each for a custom fodder to make better versions later. (One to keep normal until seeing how the custom could turn out.)

Il Cattivo 03-16-2015 08:27 AM

I'll pick up iron legion. he'll fit just right in with my ironman army.

if they do quicksilver I might end up getting him and scarlet witch too.

ukmu 03-16-2015 09:53 AM

Scar Witch jas a really nice head that could be used on a different buck. That magic effect accessory is to die for! Worth the money JUST for that to put on the proper SW.

5 or 10 of those Iron Legions wouldnt be bad, but even as a HUGE army builder, is a pass for me.

Loki's staff and removable helm arent the worst things either. Again, a pass for me.

The Ultron 2.0 though.... now THAT is interesting to me.Even with its 5 poa body, there is some REAL potential there! I will be cutting some in half for Sub-Ultrons mounted on Spidere Droids from Star Wars. They could easily be head swapped unto IM MK2 bodies or even the nice Star Wars Assassin Droid from Clone Wars..... many options to tinker with.

The TRU 2 packs are all repacks.... the MK 43 repaint is nice if you missed the HALL OF ARMOUR MK42, and the blue stripes on Widow's outfit are ok too. I guess some miss the Falcon NOW from Cap 2 line and can at least pick him up if needed now.

Thge 5 poa will sell at $6 price point to kids, the gimmicky 2.5" will be at Ross next spring and the the true 3.75" collector is left in the rain yet again. At least Star Wars and GI JOE head swaps could save us...... pity.

Too bad this offering is all we are getting with only hope to customize or army build inferior figures.

En Sabah Nerd 03-16-2015 01:53 PM

Ultron might be decent for army building or customizing. Neat to see the Legends Scarlet Witch hex effects being reused (with some added swirly bits apparently) because that figure is terrific and the effects are cool.

snake5289 03-16-2015 03:42 PM

What a bunch of wasted potential. And plastic.

Zend 03-16-2015 04:04 PM

I'd like 5-10 Iron Legion suits, but I hate 5 POA figures. Anyone know of a fully articulated 3.75 scale Iron Man figure with a suit that's close to Iron Legions'?

redfox 03-16-2015 08:05 PM

That Scarlet Witch looks pretty good, despite the lack of articulation.

cminc 03-16-2015 11:01 PM

I dont mind the 5 poa figs, honestly. what bothers me is the damn 'i'm standing RIGHT HERE' poses they put them in. I'm not saying the have to go hardcore acrobatic poses or anything, but at least give the kids half bent elbows and knees every now and again so they look like action figures that know what action is.

Our toys, even the 5 poa stuff, were so much cooler than what kids get now. Granted, their stuff looks better, but the actual playability of the action figures we had blows these out of the water.

Can you imagine a heman that stood straight up with straight arms and legs? that would look ridiculous...like these almost.

warmachine6 03-17-2015 12:45 AM

no quicksilver again ??
is it because hes owned by fox or something ?

A Friend 03-17-2015 01:22 AM

I think there may still be more of these figures to come. It wouldn't surprise me if we got another wave with Vision and an Ultron drone. I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

ukmu 03-17-2015 01:28 AM

Wave three for Vision and Quicksilver and some surprise cameo figures, that is IF the wave three is confirmed. Drones are at the top of my new want list!

Fox has movie rights to X-Men Quicksilver, Disney has movie rights to Avengers Quicksilver. There are 2.5" Quicksilver figures so licensing is not an issue I believe. Hasbro is in Disney's pocket and have clearly decided to avoid Fox film versions in my opinion.

Will 03-17-2015 05:04 AM

In fact Loki is a repack but is from the avengers all star line and not from the movie. At the right of the card you can see the comic characters and not the movie characters.

Ash from Carolina 03-17-2015 07:03 AM

So I guess retailers were we must have 5 poa figures to warm our shelves. Just not a fan of inaction figures.

ukmu 03-17-2015 07:14 AM

Right.... even the Star Wars Rebels are the new non action figure. Seems the old ways are the best ways.

Funny that the purposely retro look ReAction figures now have elbow joints. I say funny because they are to look from 1985 when in fact 30 years later they actually have surpassed the current offerings, and are at least 7 poa now on some lines.

I know that AoA and Rebels are geared for kids and MI and Black series exits for 3.75" collectors.... but surely there could be a common ground?

Maybe we will have some 5poa Go Joe's for next spring!

The common ground was the Avengers Assemble line.
Sadly it didn't stick around as well as it should have. It was the perfect spot to get comic renditions that are slightly more modernized. Like Hawkeye's modern suit. Kind of hope they bring that back. The toon line like it was perfect, it only needed more diversity and could cover all the toons.

This way we could get Agent Venom via Ultimate spider-man (besides all the other great cameos there!) as well as anyone else that's appeared on any of them including that bad ass taskmaster design.

The repacks are also much easier this way. Like She-Hulk, A-Bomb, Red hulk maybe with retooled hands and guns. Etc. Tons of perfect bucks out there that could be used or re-used that people missed out on or still sell like hot cakes.

But heck, if they did it this way we could have already even had Arcade as a figure. A wolverine, spider-man, Arcade 3 pack would be perfect under that branding. Mix it up a little bit and toss in an Alpha Flight 3 pack that has sasquatch, Northstar, and Puck or vindicator too.

That's my hope for the 3.75'' lines eventually though. Consolidate and expand.
One line for the aligned MCU. (Including spidey!)
One line for Fox X-Men & fantastic 4 stuff. (Pending if there is merchandising rights to their contract or not.)
One line for Comics. (Marvel infinite)
And the last line should be the new aligned cartoon continuity. With all 4 able to trade bucks across them per character mold that could call for it. Allows for old mold re-usage, keeps the shelves with sought after characters, and allows for better cost recuperation over previous molds that didn't always make it to mass market.

This way we can also get Marvel Now stuff too still like Falcon cap and female thor or the new Captain Marvel & Ms. Marvel.

I said exactly the same thing a few pages back, great minds think alike I suppose. The only difference was I had a cartoon line alongside the other 3. If I'm bored I even structure waves of these characters in the same way Hasbro would (i.e an Iron Man/Captain America every wave). With four waves of four figures for each movie, I had all the main and side characters and variants we want.
Really we need a new thread to imaginary waves that we'd put out if we were Hasbro.
