Madelman - Expedicion Polar

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

Doing a garagesale and mostly buying video games I stumbled
upon this action figure which was awesome looking and untouched.
Sure a few bumps because it's been in boxes all his life but I wanted it
paid a dollar (actually a euro) for it. And I was wondering if anyone
knows what it is exactly because all info is in Spanish! I would love
to know the value so I can trade it for something I really want (:

Thanks in advance people!

Madelman goes back to the 70s and I believe they still make figures today. They are mainly military or sort of GI Joe Adventure Team type figures but they have other themes like space/sci-fi, racing, historical... They are a pretty well respected brand, mainly in Europe but around the world as well. Pretty good for a Euro, but yours appears to be missing some stuff--skis, ski pole, probably a weapon--rifle, knife, or something.

Hi, I'm Spanish, an all the people that were children during the 70's and 80's in Spain know well the Madelman action figures. ;)

Madelman Action Figures are Spanish toys, during the 70's over all, a lot of Spanish children enjoy playing with them. They have different series, modern soldiers, Western, pirates, adventures...

Madel began to produce those action figures around 1968. The size of the action figure was 5,91". At the beginning, all the action figures had the same face, there were no Madelwomen, and they had no feet, the boots had a snap-on system...

At the end of the 70's, the figure was perfectioned, and also there were Madelwomen too. In the year 1983, the company (Madel) ended the production. Now, the action figure had feet, beards, moustaches and the faces were more realistic.

At the end of the 80's (more or less), a 3th generation of Madelman action figures was produced with the size of 3 3/4". It's was called "Madelman 2050". The diference in size began a lot of discusions... I think they tried to made action figures like the ones that were famous then: G.I.Joe action figures during the 80's. In that ocasion, they invented a history about an reptile-alien species (the Zarkons)coming to the Earth in order to conquest the planet. There were too humans to fight against aliens (the C.O.T.A men).

In last years Madel returned a little to produce new models about police and sport series and the Spanish publishing house Altaya edited a magazine kiosk collection with new editions of classic vintage Madelman action figures, first generation.

I have some Altayas replicas of some models, like Canadian mounted police (very pretty figure, I think it's the best ever made by Madel), some pirates, and also a vintage 2nd generation spacial pilot.

About prizes, every person who sells on Ebay or similar decide a singular prize for his/her products... so just compare prices on Internet.

Here are some links, photos speak an international lenguage:

That link it's about Altaya replica collection:

And that other about Madelman 2050 collection. Sorry about images, Imageshack had recently expired a lot of images around Internet, but in page 2 are, still some photos that had survive:

I've just ended the work of uploading the photos and images lost by Imageshack once again on the forum talking about Madelman 2050: ;)

I hope everybody can enjoy it and, if somebody need a translation of something just tell me, I do the text and I uploaded the photos of that link. ;)
