Wow, that looks fantastic! Sculpts like this are the reason why I still dig the 5 PGA stuff. No super articulated Stars Wars figure would ever look that crisp and clean...

I initially wasn't interested in this at all, because I have no interest in Rebels, but since it's based on a piece of Ralph's concept art, I'll probably get it.

On the topic of 5poa figures in-general, I do think there's something... nice about them. They're simple, but manage to look great. Since seeing episode 7 I've been debating about how I should go about bulding a SW collection.

A lot of collectors would question my sanity, but I really think the 5poa figures are the way to go... for me at least. They're cost effective, has the best character selection, they have the best chance at being made for future films, fit-in with the older figures, and they look good.

I'll have to disagree on that. About 6 years ago at the height of the Star Wars 3.75 in. line you could find figures of literally anyone. Even characters who had 2 seconds of screen time were being made, even though they peg warmed. And they sold for under $10.

You're right that some of them still look good, but I refuse to start collecting them. It just feeds the beast that makes these low quality figures and sells them for the price good ones used to be. Even if I wanted to customize the figure it still bothers me to buy them.

I agree with trekking95. I was happy when we got better crotch articulation. Then we went all backwards. I blame those retro-based ReAction figures fad.

I just hope the paint (especially the face) is at least as crisp when we get them. So I like it, mostly because it's between the cartoon and realistic aesthetic. I would love it if it had more articulation.

I wish Hasbro would spend less on packaging cost and more on the figure itself. Or at least lessen the characters released and focus more on the main ones' quality.

I'll admit that the selection isn't what it used to be, but compared to the other options at-hand, the 5poa figures are still dominating in that regard. We're still getting some characters that have very little screentime, or even none at all. I can't speak for Rebels, but last I saw, the TFA figures were still going for eight bucks at Walmart.
Buying ANYTHING with the Star Wars branding on it is "feeding the beast", so I'm not really sure what your point here is.

Not saying you, or anyone else, should buy them instead of more articulated figures, just that, for my purposes, they're the best option for new Star Wars figures.

Probably helps that I don't really care about articulation, and I like the card art Hasbro has been doing for TFA, so there are some that I plan on keeping on-card (like the Snowtrooper I already have).

And yet Sabine a main character on Rebels gets a permanent helmet when 90% of the time she has it off.
If we were in the SA days it would have been removable.

Or come with a separate head at least.

I'll admit 5POA figures have some slick sculpts but I just can't go backwards. To me a figure at least needs elbows, knees, and outward shoulder movement. That's probably why I had no problems with the first Amazing Spider-Man figures but absolutely hated the figures from the sequel. Which sucks because I really wanted a movie Electro.

Agreed. It depresses me how far hasbro has fallen. They were so much better only 6 years ago (the vintage collection) Hard to believe its been that long. They were producing some of the finest figures they've ever made, and now they've lost it.

All I'm saying is that the 5poa figures work for what I'm looking for in a Star Wars collection... Is that so fraking bad?

I'm not big on the poa but damn this is very sweet looking. A definite buy.

She looks great, pity about the lack of blaster though.
