McFarlane Redcap Collection
|
Holy shit they're bringing Spawn back!
Also why are NECA's Gears of War figures shown there next to their sample thingy, just for comparison I guess? Either way I would've way rather seen this license go back to NECA as they've easily been making better figures than McFarlane has for a long time now. |

I guess this is McFarlane's answer to Hasbro's Black Series and Funko's Legacy Collection. I really hope range of motion is better on these than previous offerings. There is no doubt that McFarlane still makes great sculpts but even if their figures have full articulation, their range of motion is usually hindered. I was somewhat excited when they acquired the Assassin's Creed license, because I knew their roster would surely surpass NECA(who only made Altair and Ezio) by far, but cautiously excited because I figured their legs would barely move. And I was right. I would love to see a line of Assassin's Creed figures sculpted very well and with high range of motion/useful articulation. However, that day has sadly yet to come. In Assassin's Creed you play assassins that are skilled at parkour and do much more than stand immobile. So to make figures that are largely static from the waist down(yes I know there is leg articulation but what use is a knee joint if the hips barely move?), is underwhelming given the series. I remain cautiously excited for the Commander Sheppard figure, with the same concerns mentioned above. |
I mainly collect import figures and I saw that they were doing Naruto, Attack on Titan, and Tokyo Ghoul. I did recently start picking up some domestic figures here recently as the quality has really been improving as of late. Examples I can think of are NECAS heroes of the storm figures, the DC Icons line (scale also fits really well with imports), and the Mezci MK figures. So my hope is that Mcfarlane will keep this trend going.

Is Spawn the crappy 5 inch scale like TWD?
|
It looks like some of the figures may be 5" scale, yes. But there are non-human characters and "Deluxe" figures listed as well. So no idea what size these will ultimately bed.

I am cautiously excited about this. I want spawn back bad. I even hope for build sets based on horror films...the next version of movie maniacs.

Oh God, that Glenn packaging says they're including autographs and foil trading cards... Did you learn nothing from the 90's, guys? Nobody falls for that kind of thing except for speculators and scalpers! I can still go to flea markets and trade centers TO THIS DAY and find people desperately trying to unload thier embossed-foil glow in the dark comics for more than they paid :P

I hope that Titanfall mech gets an actual release, I'm still bitter over that Halo Falcon they never produced for the 5" line.
