Will we get a new Movie Deadpool?

I tried searching the forums but get a ton of Deadpool results.
I was just curious if Marvel was going to make a 6 or 7 inch Movie Deadpool?

TheBlueMarvel 02-12-2016 12:39 PM

Hate to poop your party, but I seriously doubt it. I'd say yes if the movie were put out by Marvel Studios, but it's not...

Ravenxl7 02-12-2016 01:39 PM

Highly unlikely, imho. Unless I missed it, I don't even think that Funko is doing a POP! for him, and if anyone could get something of movie Deadpool out there, I would think it would be them.

En Sabah Nerd 02-12-2016 01:44 PM

Maybe we might get a select figure. Maybe.

From Hasbro I'd assume it's a no because the film is R-rated.

We're not getting a Select figure.

Is this confirmed?

Yes

I had hoped it was like the Robocop toys back in the '80's.. They still came out regardless of the movie rating.

hasbroherofan 02-12-2016 05:06 PM

I'd heard the only company Marvel would actually allow to use the license is Hot Toys.

http://cdn1-www.comingsoon.net/asset...77425607_o.jpg

Beyond that, as a general rule, Marvel isn't letting very many companies make toys of the Fox movies (it's all rather childish).

Probably because the only people willing to drop 200+ on a Hot Toy are going to see it anyway, so they don't have to worry about advertising the competition

Hasbro won't make toy lines from R rated films. They said that during the Star Wars and GI Joe weekly Q&A sessions they did a few years back and it was often asked if they'd ever do figure lines of R rated films like Robocop, Predator, Aliens, etc.

At this point (meaning the past decade) who would even want Hasbro to make toys for Robocop, Alien, or Predator? McFarlane had it pretty well covered until their fall and the ball just rolled on to their successors, though mainly I'd say NECA is the one most "spiritually" carrying the torch for those R-rated licenses.

kenm2474 02-12-2016 08:23 PM

Normally there is an onslaught of Movie Figures Pre Movie. So that not happening for Deadpool Movie means the new ML DP Figure is the closest we will get. Their are honestly not enough characters in the film to justify any at this point in time.

McFarlane and Neca didn't have the 1/18 scale covered, which is why that topic came up often in the Q&A's. The Q&A's were mainly for the 1/18 scale but occasionally other scales were mentioned like if Hasbro would ever do a Wesley Snipes Blade in Legends or Universe scale and we were told "No" because of the films R ratings.

I'm not sure where you're getting your info from, but Hasbro wouldn't make a Snipes Blade simply because that movie came out in 1998. Plus, they've never shown ANY interest in putting out product from older movies (aside from star wars), let alone Predator, Alien and Robocop. Plus, why would they make those? They've got success with ML and Star Wars and other random things, let other companies handle the niche properties that don't have enough of a toy collecting fanbase for them to take interest. Long story short, whatever you read is most likely untrue

I agree. As far as the Select stuff goes I think its cool, but I love Neca's level of detail for the price.

Why does everyone assume that because it is rated R they won't do a figure for it? I'm also tired people blaming Disney for the lack of X-Men and FF properties. Disney is NOT the evil corporation people make them out to be. They haven't been ever since the employees went on strike on Walt in the 40s.

In fact, there is a Deadpool figure coming out in the Legends series.

ukmu 02-13-2016 07:49 AM

The new Dead Pool movie line IS coming!!!! It will be mass distributed and well stocked next to Hasbro new highly articulated 3.75" lines of Marvel and Star Wars and beside it's new reduced price 6" Marvel and Star Wars lines. They will be using real unicorn tears in the plastic as well. Judy Garland just called me on my iPhone 9 to share this new knowledge.

richaveli83 02-13-2016 08:18 AM

Hasbro cannot make figures from non Disney/Marvel films.

So what is Rogue and Deadpool then? Good god, stop posting lies. Hasbro has also already stated months ago there is no restriction.

To be fair, those are comic versions of those characters. As I said in the other thread, Marvel Legends hasn't done a figure for an X-Men film since 2009.

They're comic-based figures, which Hasbro is allowed to do but only in a wave dedicated to X-Men characters. What isn't a lie is that they can nolonger make figures based on the Fox movie designs. Frak, even DST can't make Fox-based Marvel Select figures anymore.

Comic-based versions do not fall under the umbrella of stuff that Fox can get revenue on. If they were Reynolds-pool or Anna Paquin Rogue, then Fox would be getting a slice of that profit pie.

I think I always just assume Hasbro won't do R-rated movies because they don't. The Deadpool comic figure is different (and I know this is pretty much BS) because his comics aren't typically R-rated. He's almost always censored from using really bad words and what would be the more gruesome violence can be written off as cartoon violence.

juggernaut209 02-16-2016 08:27 AM

Setting aside the R rating and the Fox production, I wouldn’t have expected anything from Hasbro in any case. Hell, they barely even make Legends for the MCU movies. I find their resistance to produce movie figures baffling. Civil War has the most expansive 6” movie figure count for an MCU movie, but they are sprinkled throughout two waves and several store exclusives. We’ve been lucky to get a main character or two, and for a lot of MCU movies they were Walmart exclusive (Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers…). And the only 6” villains I can remember are the Walmart Exclusive Loki and BAF Ultron.
