Considering how off the headsculpts are and how they aren't even the right colors... I gota wonder what Turtles you're remembering.

MegaPrime33 03-28-2016 06:57 AM

I don't get it. I'm not going to buy into this if aren't going to do more classics from the Comic line. I'm still waiting for Shredder and Krang.

Ravenxl7 03-28-2016 07:42 AM

Interesting. Not bad looking, but not anything spectacular either. Though definitely a bit surprising considering I thought Playmates had given up on trying anything collector oriented.

The additional heads and accesories are a nice, and somewhat surprising, addition. That said, the randome coloration of the Turtles themselves is... off-putting.

The packaging is another surprise. Almost seems like they might actually be trying to improve. I mean, they really aren't, but it's a good half-assed attempt to look like it.

Joe Moore 03-28-2016 07:46 AM

The comic coloring, the lack of movie skin texturing, lack of overall paint and the not so great head sculpts are going to keep me from buying these. I'll go with NECA 1/4 scale for my movie turtles fix.

Robogeek28 03-28-2016 08:05 AM

They're not awful.

Depending on price, I may pick these guys up.

Yup, you are correct. Like Joe said, I think I will have to settle on the 1/4 NECA 89 movie turtles for my fix.

yangvp85 03-28-2016 11:36 AM

I like them! So far. If the scaling is right, the articulation is good, and the final paint apps are good, I may just get these and skip out on the s.h. figuarts line.

TimothyR 03-28-2016 12:09 PM

yeah, i think i'm done with playmates turtles. i'm more curious to see what neca does, and i'm more excited for the figuarts cartoon turtles. the extra accessories are a nice touch, but having their classic iterations, i don't have much interest in these. i much rather have seen them release shredder and krang.

"These look to be repacks/repaints of the TMNT 1990 Classics Figures with a lot of new accessories."

BBManik 03-28-2016 12:36 PM

Such wasted potential. I wish a company like Neca or Diamond were producing TMNT figures in this scale. The characters deserve better.

juggernaut209 03-28-2016 12:39 PM

Already bought the first releases, the extra accessories are cool but not enough.

Trivial Psychic 03-28-2016 01:53 PM

These figures are all wrong. They come with their signature weapons, when in the movie, outside of Donnie, the other turtles used everything and anything BUT their weapons.

It's not going to ruin my day or anything, but seeing these announced kinda pisses me off, especially when they left Shredder and Krang high and dry, as well as other important characters such as Casey, April, the Foot Soldiers, and Splinter.

Once Human Karai releases, I'm done with Playmates TMNT in all forms.

Pretty much the same for me. There are a couple of past releases that I missed or initially passed on that I plan on getting, and I still want to see them release ICK and The Creep, but beyond that I'm done with them.

I really hope NECA shows them up good with whatever they've got in the works. Show Playmate's that they need to improve their game or give up.

VashTS 03-28-2016 05:53 PM

I swore off Playmates for good. These are appealing due to accessories.

I do worry that these were rushed out to combat NECA and Figuarts who are making GOOD figures. I hope this does not deter NECA from making the 7" X-Mas TMNT. It feels this might be the NECA Comic TURTLES FIASCO ALL OVER AGAIN!

Playmates are awful....AWFUL!!!!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I am 90's follower of Ninja Turtles, still today I am impatiently waiting for TMNT 2 Movie because I have the respect for my Teenage Turtles. From Out of the Shadows I bought some movie Outfit's from "Sky-Seller online store" to wear for my first show.

Tomax 03-07-2017 04:22 PM

these are movie based
