That Capullo Aquaman has got one of the ugliest head sculpts I have seen on a figure in general. The complete opposite to the Jim Lee Aquaman bust which looks pretty damn cool (but costs a fortune).

In general, I can't say I am a big fan of the entire Capullo series. Definitely better than Dc Coll. in the articulation department but the male sculpts were somewhat ugly and too cartoony. I only bought Talon (and Catwoman).

I dont really care about the film figures, but they look pretty bad too. Wonder Woman looks like she could be a good custom with a different head.

And ofcourse the Batgirl pack is pretty sick (might end up buying it if its not TOO expensive).

Just came on here to say the Designer series stuff just looks like shit, all the time. I definitely like the Batman figures, until it gets to the mouth. The combination of the paint and the wide mouth just looks stupid. It ruins the whole thing. I wanted to love these and Snyder and Capullo's work, but I can't. It's overrated imo.

What the hell is up with company's these days putting out horrible head sculpts it kills the whole figure.

These...kinda stink, guess I'll continue to track down their older DC Direct stuff, really hope their Batman Beyond 3 pack isn't total trash too.

The animated line has been nothing but stellar since wave 2 with only minor paint slip-ups being the only thing to really watch out for. The articulation, quality of plastic, and sculpts are all top notch and perfectly capture the look (it's not hard to nail the sculpting since they're smooth cartoon characters but they nail it).

I know it's wishful thinking (especially since they haven't even done a regular Superman) but I'd love a Superman from "The Call" two-part episode to go with Bruce and Terry.

That body isn't doing much for that Lex either ha.

The Wonder Woman body is closer to his.

I disagree, partly. Unless you are calling those horrible crotch joints "stellar". The Joker, Poison Ivy and a few others were also quite disappointing and really for the price point they sure as hell are small.
Not saying they aren't ok but definitely not what I would call top notch, although I guess its a matter of perspective. Given what NECA consistently delivers (e.g. Ultimate Dante figure, Kratos, Heroes of the Storm etc) at a similar or slightly higher price point, the TAS figures are just embarassing for DC.

The crotch joints are purely a matter of opinion but they clearly don't bother the majority of collectors on these figures. They couldn't really use a ball joint on these hips and maintain the flush streamlined cartoon look and just a T-crotch would draw more complaints. Aren't pretty much all $20-$25 figures 6" in size, so how can the animated figures be considered "small?" With the amount of accessories each figure comes with $25 for a 6" toy is pretty good/normal. Also not every company gets to be as awesome as NECA for the price, it's what makes NECA so damn good.

Yeah...I'm not actually a fan, nice overall aesthetic but the crotch design along with those pins killed any interest I had - along with the ongoing breakage issues that still aren't resolved.

And the mostly redundant articulation is a pure joke, better off sticking to their older mantra of poseable statues, minus all the hideous joints.

I'm only considering the Batman Beyond stuff because there's no other options, and I love the heck out of that cartoon.

They haven't had visible pins on the animated figures since wave 1 except a few figures which might have one visible on the side of the knee. There also haven't been any mass breakage complaints since wave 1. Both those problems stopped being widespread issues beginning with wave 2. It's impossible to remove breakage from every single figure without just switching to Mattel or Hasbro level plastic (the more playable stuff) but since wave 2 the number of people bringing up broken animated figures is minute enough to just be those few figures and not the entire production run.

The 7 pack is listed at 7", but isn't it part of the Icons line?
