Very nostalgia inducing. I don't think I'll get one since I have the movie version of Aliens Ripley and getting this one too would be space and money that could go to something I want more instead. Cool to see the smart-gun accessory here and I'm guessing the Vasquez figure's will have the armature and rig but Ripley doesn't since the Kenner Ripley's gun didn't attach to her back.

I thought they just were repainting the movie ones in the colors not actually making new molds.

I remember when I was younger I had the figures before I had seen any of the movies I was wondering why nothing looked like the toys when I seen the movies.

So awesome. I'll definitely be picking one up. NECA really knows how to make toys feel fun. Love it.

It certainly wouldn't. The Aliens line is one of those top-notch A-game lines that they've always put a lot of love into. The Dog Alien is one of those stellar figures that astonishes me that it was only $20 at retail.

No this is a special 4/26 event figure and is not attached to any wave, similar to an exclusive or ultimate figure which is sold on its own. Vasquez and Newt may very likely not be released until the end of the year or possibly not until early next year.

Some Toys R Us will have these in store but if you're Toys R Us doesn't have it in store or is known to not readily get new NECA stuff then toysrus.com and also gohastings.com will have them available on the 26th according to Randy through Twitter.

If I didn't know there was a big Kenner Aliens follow-up happening I'd avoid this figure.

I was hoping for slightly more than a re-paint (unless I'm missing something). Somehow I'd have preferred it if they'd gone with the facial features of the original figure or something, but then I imagine they want it to correlate with the updated Kenner Aliens.

Truth be told, I think the Ellen Ripley figures are amongst the weakest in the Alien line. Even the Amanda Ripley figure has more facial personality.

It'll also likely be a bugger to get hold of in the UK without paying silly prices, presumably?

I don't get it...
 

Not to be a downer, but the availability of all this Alien Day stuff, with the exception of the Kenner style Ripley, has been very confusing. Lots of merch announced but not many details on how to actually get your hands on them. Plus, the original announcement really made it seem like NECA Vasquez and Newt would be available, but now they're apparently just a tease for a future wave? This whole thing seems poorly planned and executed.

For the most part, just reveals today from most companies. Kenner style Ripley and the Aliens Lootcrate will be available to purchase today. Some stuff in Japan as well at Toy Sapiens. It's not like an organized holiday or anything. Just a fun day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Aliens and the franchise as a whole.

It's a pity that this is an US exclusive. Neither TRU or GoHastings will ship outside the US to Canada.

Looks WAAYY too much like my country's president when she was part of a communist guerrilla back on cold war days. The mold already looked like her, but the red shirt just makes everything worse.

It's not a US exclusive. Being offered to NECA distributors worldwide. Just might not be available today outside US, depends on the retailers.

All hope is not lost then, I'll keep looking out for one. I just hate to spend after market prices, thanks for the clarification.

According to Randy, Star Images in the UK will have Kenner Ripley soon.

Found today at my local Hastings. They had 10 in store. $21.99 plus 30% off in-store only on all Alien figures.
