Is the helmeted head the SDCC exclusive or is the entire Newt figure the exclusive?

Helmet is removable. Waiting on concrete details on what is going on. When Randy was asked if this was a SDCC exclusive, he said "Mostly".

IF they are making Newt a SDCC exclusive, just make it a box set with Bomber Jacket Ripley and Vasquez.

P.S. I would also love a Ferro figure in her aviator glasses and removable helmet.

100% confirmed by NECA on Twitter that this is a SDCC exclusive, but they also said they would make it available via other channels as well, presumably their online store and perhaps even some product in TRU like their last batch of convention exclusives.

If Vasquez ends up being an exclusive as well people will flip the fuck out, but there's no way NECA's stupid enough to do that.

Randy said on Twitter a few weeks back they aren't doing the Toys R Us release this year for their SDCC items.

Vasquez is not a SDCC exclusive. She's part of a 30th Anniversary, in wave 9.

They have the smart gun done...that means Drake?!?

Exclusives suck balls, it's difficult enough to get hold of figures. Especially outside of America!

Maybe, Drake would be cool so we could have both smart-gun soldiers in one year. Vasquez damn well better come with the smart-gun though, she loses it at the end of their first encounter but it's still her iconic main weapon. I could see them giving her her pistol or pulse-rifle in addition but for the figure a fully-armored smart-gun rig Vasquez would be the best way to have it. I think that maybe Apone would also be pretty easy since they already made the sergeant sleeve arms and the rest of him would be the same as the other guy marines except for the head. We don't know who else they've gotten rights to since a while back they didn't even have Jenette Goldstein's rights but now they do so maybe there were other rights they managed to secure with hers. We'll see.

I doubt Vasquez will come with anything other than the smart gun and harness. Or she will come with other stuff, but no smart gun. I feel like it's a no-brainer to do a Smart gun version first and foremost; and maybe do the other in another series or as part of a new two-pack (those didn't sell well, though did they?) or something.

I am wondering if they are saving the bomber jacket Ripley for an Ultimate figure. I think some jacketed arms and a removable vest (like what they are doing for her Alien 3 version) added to the previous release would allow for both looks.

As for Newt, gonna be a hard pass from me. Good idea making her an Exclusive, otherwise she'd be warming pegs more than Bishop.

I could see a two pack similar to the Hicks/Alien and Hudson/Alien battle damaged sets with Vasquez without her body armor and it would include the pulse-rifle and pistol. She only had the two looks in the movie really: the armored-smart-gun look and the last-stand/defense of the medical section look. I'd say it's safe to say that we're gonna see the smart-gun rig as the series 9 figure since everybody likes the smart-gun and Kenner homage Ripley's smart-gun isn't quite the real-deal.
