Do you want parents to complain and have NECA pulled from TRU forever?! Honestly after the Breaking Bad fiasco I'm extremely relieved they haven't gone after anything else.

It does look like a cool box gimmick but I was already sold on this figure anyway. I prefer the look from part VI as being the ultimate Jason (he finally actually looked like a zombie, he demonstrated more superhuman strength, and he had a freaking utility belt for extra murder power!) but part III is the classic Jason and this figure comes with a lot more accessories which the extras can be distributed to other figures.

Looks cool! This is really the only Jason figure I want.

I'm totally sold on this figure as well. I have the regular Part 3 release, but not the bloody "battle damaged" variant. This version allows you to recreate the variant, so I can get the bloody one for $20 as opposed to Evilbay prices! :)

Actually since I was mentioning TRU and carrying this, my stores never got the Jason Lives figure. They had and have gotten every other Ultimate figure so far but no Jason, he never even got a price tag/placer. It didn't actually affect me since I had ordered him from NECA's ebay store but it struck me as noteworthy.

Funny you say that, My TRU never got it either, I ordered from NECA as well, but might have picked up an extra otherwise, but the Part 3 one to me looks great and I may like it better than the Jason Lives version.

Initially when Randy said on Twitter that they would be doing an Ultimate Jason I was hoping/imagining it would be this part III figure as, like I said, it is the classic version and their original release has been hard to get on the second market. Them doing Jason Lives instead was the Jason figure I didn't know I wanted. Lucky for us that Jason does have some striking difference between his looks so one can have the two together, Jason Lives figure being the unstoppable kitted-out killer and part III being the good ol' Jason that pops in your head first.

I would love a FvJ version,love that look!

That open jacket has become his modern default look, it's even what they used for MKX.

That box cover looks fantastic. I missed the original releases so I'm tempted by this ultimate part 3.

I'm not a Jason fanatic, but I hate that the FvJ look has become the default modern Jason look and which he'd go back some variation of his part 3 look whenever they do another movie. At the very least, have him wear a green, button up shirt.

It is one of my least favorite looks but it has become his modern default compared to his classic green button ups.

Other than the reboot, there's really no reason he should be changing so much. He gets killed in one movie and is buried or under a lake the whole time then he comes out wearing different clothes. And by the time he was a rotting, reanimated corpse, he didn't really come off as being concerned about his appearance.

I sincerely hope that the mask looks like the one inside the promo box shots, and not the one in the pictures, because they look to be of two completely different sculpts. In the newer photos of the figure out of the box, the mask is closer to the one that came with the original figure, which was a bit small and fit awkwardly on the figure.

The one that can be seen in the packaged shots is a completely new sculpt and is far more accurate to the original film. I sincerely hope that is the one we're getting, because the mask was easily the weakest part of the original release. I'm also hoping that some of the legacy issues from the previous Ultimate Jason figure are fixed, as the loose hips and head joints were a bit of a let down to what should have been one of NECA's best Ultimate figures.

Really looking forward to this one, as it could not come at a better time. I recently had to move, and my battle damaged version of Jason from Part 3 had a leg snap right off the hip during the move. Since this Ultimate Jason is blood soaked, he'll make a perfect replacement for a fraction of the cost.

I was also noticing the different looking masks, the in-box one is much better looking.

The loose hips and necks on the Jason Lives Jason were a bit of a let down but the silver lining is that they don't hurt the figure's ability to stand or maintain poses, they just make it more annoying to get the poses.

Apparently, this is already up for sale on NECA's eBay website according to their recent Facebook posting...

I couldn't agree more. I feel the same about the mask. The one in the box looks way better! I hope that the figure was delayed to correct the mask. NECA has made last minute changes before, such as the 1954 Godzilla. I just bought Jason on Amazon, the mask will either make or break this one for me. I have both the regular and battle damaged so this one has a lot to live up too.
