This was up for pre order on Amazon a while back so I figured a few peeps would like to know how it is. There's also a real metal one too being sold by Amazon as well. Figure us die hard Marvel fans would like to know the review on the first one.

I saw one of these in the wild yesterday. £150 - looked amazing.

Forbidden Planet in Liverpool. When I enquired, they actually told me that they had two in stock; the one on display and another in the store.

It was above the counter on a wall mount.

Pilkster 07-28-2016 03:24 AM

Thanks dude

Toys R Us has it too for pre order, pricier then Amazon though.

Hasbro Pulse has a Designer Desk video up about this item; very cool (apparently I'm not allowed to post link).

I'll see if Joe will post and create a thread for it since it's direct from Hasbro themselves. Just saw the video for both they definitely look bad ass.

Edit - NVM we can't embed the video that's why we're not posting it as news.

Proud owner of one haha. Also this one you can't really put on your back because of the straps aren't that long to adjust for arm length, but the metal one may be.

faulty paint?

Hello,

I have one question about your shield. I got mine a few days ago and realized that the red painting looks bad. As if some kind of liquid dried on it. But you can only see it when the shield reflects light. It seems to be "in" the color. Does anybody else have this problem, or did I just get a faulty one?

Mine seems to be ok, you may have gotten a faulty one then. The paint is a bit easy to chip though too.

steko 08-31-2016 10:24 AM

Thanks for the reply. I sent the shield back and wait for a replacement.

Yes! I have the exact same problem. Not counting the small albeit noticeable paint defect, I also have this "dried liquid" effect on the red paint. Wtf is that? Kinda ruined the shield for me, to be honest. I can't rub it off or clean it with a damp cloth either.

I mean, I wasn't expecting movie prop replica quality here, but that defect (happening only on the red painted sections) is very much disappointing.

I'm thinking of sending it back, but I'm afraid TRU will be out of stock and won't be able to replace it.

Not sure what to do...

First contact TRU, see if you can get your money back, or get a new shield, as well as hunt for another one i.e on a different site just in case they dont have it in-stock.

Makes sense, yes. What bothers me is that I ordered the shield while it was on sale ($33 off). I'd hate to just get my money back and have to order somewhere else at full price.

I guess I'll ask for a replacement. TRU.ca usually doesn't really have their act together, though. Hopefully this goes smoothly. I wish Amazon.ca had the shield for that same price I paid. I'd switch store in a heartbeat.

grayfox 09-18-2016 07:30 PM

So I got a replacement shield and it has the exact same paint defect. This freaking sucks. Now I'd have to contact TRU *again* to get a third shield. Not sure they'll be happy to hear this...

That sucks, is there no TRU by you to see if they have it in stock so you can check it out in person that way? Might be easier.

Closest TRU is an hour away and they don't have any in stock at the moment. Anyway, the Shield is packed in a box with no windows and is taped shut. Can,t easily open it at the store :/

steko 09-20-2016 12:47 AM

I finally received a replacement. No “dried liquid“ effect. I realized that Hasbro changed the fixation inside the packing. No more plastic sheet. However, there was a cardboard holder on top of the star… which, unfortunately, scratches the surface a little bit. But I don’t think that I will find any better :/
