Looks as good as I expected it to. Definitely can't wait to get one.

Great photos Joe, the figure is a pass though. It looks nothing like the GMK Godzilla, the headsculpt is terrible.
|
He is too skinny in the bottom half. He should have a beer gut and really thick thighs (not Heisei-era fat, but thick). The neck doesn't look as thick either.

I'm definitely getting this to have another Godzilla toy because if you just accept it at face value then it is a great looking figure. Yeah I will admit it is confusing that NECA always tries to knock it out of the park with accuracy in their other figures while Godzilla feels sidelined but Godzilla is one character that I don't really look for supreme accuracy in sculpt or design because it just is Godzilla. |
He doesn't look that far off-model. The mouth/face is a little off, but it doesn't bother me.
I'm kind of embarrassed to say that despite the fact that I consider myself a huge Godzilla fan I haven't actually seen the film that this version comes from, otherwise I'd strongly consider getting this one. |
Super excited.
THought it was Mothra and King Ghidora along with GOdzilla.....JUST GODZILLA ALONE....lol Super excited. Wished NECA could do other monsters but they are restricted. Looks nice. |
I wish Neca would do some Showa monsters. They're as bad as Bandai right now.

As for Showa era Godzillas that aren't the original I don't know. I wouldn't buy of those looks myself but I know others would. |
The title of this thread lead me to believe that NECA was debuting Mothra and King Ghidorah figures as well. I'm calling bait and switch on Joe! :)

And this wouldn’t be a problem if they wouldn’t advertise it as the Godzilla from this specific movie and if they wouldn’t have access to material straight from Toho. But both are the case, so... Also this is NECA, the company which can apparently step into a time machine, kidnap the Predators from the movie sets, blast them with a shrink-ray and use dark magic to turn them into hundreds of plastic figures. Meaning that we both know they can do much better. Hell, even the past Godzilla figures are all miles ahead of this one as far as accuracy to the source material is concerned. Quote:

I don't know if I would want NECA doing Ghidorah. They would probably make his necks be a bendy wire.
|
I want Mechagodzilla, dammit!

...great looking pictures and very nice figure for sure. I still feel like something is off with it though. The lower jaw bothers me a lot when it's open. It looks too long and big, strange thing is, I think it looks pretty good in the pictures with the mouth closed. That articulation on the tail also doesn't look very natural.
I'm going back and forth on this one. I love the movie and the Godzilla design is one of my favorites, but I don't want to buy something I'm not 100% happy with and I'm sure as hell not going to get into Monsterarts :D |
