NECA Predator favorite?
 

Hello everybody. I have just started entertaining picking up a new line. The predator line! So upon further inspection I have been eliminating those I don't like while noting the ones I do. I was wondering which models were your favorite and why. Also, any pictures would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

I've been into NECA'S Predator line since their inception back with the AVP:R line, and have just about every one they have put out thus far (with the exception of the open or closed mouth and clear variants, as these always felt like cash grabs to me rather than actual new releases.) Out of all of the different Predators that they have released so far, I would have to say that Boar Predator from the Lost Tribe would have to be my favorite from a design standpoint.

There's nothing fancy about the design, and that's why I love it. Minimal armor, no blades or cannon, he just looks like a brute that would tear your arms out of the sockets.

Welcome to the clan of Predator collectors! It might be intimidating jumping in since the majority of older Predators carry ridiculous secondary market prices, but thankfully NECA has some cool new designs coming up, as well as some re-releases of older favorites that will be upgraded (the upcoming Ultimate series Predators) so I would say that it isn't too bad of a time to jump in.

While it's hard for me to pick just one I have a few that I love more than others: Nightstorm, Lava, Elder v2, Viper, and Celtic.

Like Trivial said though these can be difficult to get after they've been out, it's much easier to just look at what is new and coming ahead.

Edit: I also really like the water emergence Jungle Hunter from series 9 because the effect is just so cool looking and it's on the updated body. I'm also drooling for the ultimate Jungle Hunter so I can have one that isn't cloaked at all.

the future is bright for the PREDATOR line, so you’ll have a good shot at alot of past releases ( excluding exclusives ) following NECA’s play book, NECA tends to reissue/release/update figures from past releases

BERSERKER, TRACKER, FALCONER and WOLF are in the works for a second release(possible new tooling) some time after 2018 from what i’ve heard. NECA has also talked about putting out a wave dedicated, based on fan favorites from past releases. and i wouldn’t be shocked if NECA re-released THE LOST TRIBE again in updated tooling

This is what I am looking forward to. In particular Scout, Guardian, and Warrior. In Ultimate tooling.

Lookin at your avatar and sig , I wonder if NECA would get to producing the Preds in this game, Id love to get those (but Im pretty sure they were released already but Im just not sure which version are they) the two human playable characters would be nice too.

What's interesting about the game's Preds is that they are technically suppose to represent Jungle Hunter and City Hunter respectively. Their color palettes tell that story, as well as some of their artwork (in-game and out).

In-game however, they share the same sprite sets (aside from stance/idle sprite, and color palette). In which the sprite-set resembles the Jungle Predator most. We do need a figure for my girl Lynn though!

And they could do an extensive retooling of one of the existing Dutch figures for 'AVP' Dutch.

Does predator hunter's bladed staff ever produced for the neca line? Thats very iconic and specific , I need that for that certain Predator.

Wasp Predator from the "Dead End" wave had a halberd type staff/spear, however it had a Xenomorph head impaled on it, so it won't have the clean look you want. The SDCC Exclusive Ahab Predator also came with one, which looked slightly different.

Off the top of my head, I cannot remember if any other Predators came with one.

Since NECA is just now really breaking into comics and video games for further designs a lot of the more elaborate weapons have yet to show up. Since they appear to have teased Broken Tusk that will be another bladed staff weapon.
