Hasbro HASCON 2017

Hasbro Officially Announces HASCON 2017

Snowflakian 10-18-2016 08:12 AM

Looking forward to this. Tons of potential for Rom, MASK, Visionaries, MLP, GI Joe, and Transformers with this setup.

Heck, makes it that much more possible to see future Inhumanoids exclusives too.

Hasbrocon has a better ring to it then Hascon...

Yup, should be fun. I hope they still have a dealer room.

Nah, they want to diversify to family oriented, and hasbrocon starts making it sound too much like Bro-con, which is too heavy negative connotation. Also alludes too much to bronies, and has an overall lackluster word appeal with limited marketing and too easy for trolls to twist. Plus it sounds like you're saying Hasbro is conning/scamming you.

Hascon is a better wordplay for Hasbro Convention in combining the two words, and has a better marketing for memes with "I can has con." Like the Has cheeseburgers ones from before, or many others.

From a marketing perspective and more inclusive atmosphere they want of the convention with family oriented draws, "HasCon" is the better title to go with.

Why no mention of Marvel Legends?

Hascon means hazardous contamination. That's not super family friendly. And the bro in hasbro is for brothers, what says family more than brothers?

The event is aimed at Hasbro owned/created properties and not their licensed brands. You'll also notice they had no mention of Star Wars. Doesn't mean you won't see stuff there for them, but they likely won't be the "featured" items.
