Marvel Legends 3.75" RAGE figure ERROR in package ???
6 Attachment(s)
I received a new figure today in the mail that I had ordered on eBay, it was for the new Marvel Legends 3.75" RAGE figure. Imagine my shock when I opened the shipping package and saw I had received a RAGE figure with the head from the ARMORED SPIDERMAN from the same series in an unopened or tampered with package. I checked the package VERY carefully and it shows no signs that it has been tampered or opened in any way at all. I am unsure if this is a common occurance or a rare thing, can anyone help me out here ??? Also I am wondering if a defect like this is worth anything ? Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I guess it depends on the collector/potential buyer. I have seen some people get excited by factory errors and boast of owning them. I am not the right person to answer this question given that I don't collect that scale of Legends, but I'm sure a 3.75 collector will come along shortly to answer your inquiry..especially with the little bump I've provided.

That's peculiar. I've seen a bunch of Rage in the wild and while I've seen some bad paint I've never seen an incorrect head. Usually I assume something like this is a deliberate head swap but I have to agree the packaging condition is evidence against that. I'm sure someone is willing to pay more for a factory error but it's territory I'm completely unfamiliar with. Considering Rage isn't very popular on his own I'd guess that would limit how much someone would pay.

Thats strange... I actually have seen the same exact figure with the same exact error in TRU last week. Now im wondering what it is or what happened!!!

Factory errors are rare. There are collectors for them. Seeing as it happened in two confirmed locations, stand to reason that it did happen. That said, your target audience is actually pretty big. I would consider it a SPIDER-MAN error. Since he is arguably the main man in comic collecting (Superman and Batman with a three way tie) I could see it sitting nicely in some HUGE collection of Spidey stuff. Errors usually go for x2.5 retail... so if it were a tenner, I'd say it is worth 25 as it is. Send it off to be graded and certified, then 100+ That said, what it is worth and what someone will pay is a BIG difference. But, seeing as it is Spider-Man, I'd say you're safe either way you go. If not, send it back and get a proper Rage and consider it done and dusted. I think you got yourself a winner. |
