Help me find a toy from my childhood?

Back in 1997 my dad won a Phantom doll from a claw machine at pizza hut in Kentucky. I have google searched this doll but can not find any pictures of the exact model of toy. this was aprox 10 to 12 inches tall hard plastic arms and legs only bent at shoulders and hips.

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has this doll i'd really like to buy it from you.

thanks so much!

hmm, is that color of the fig accurate on the pic? cuz on computer screens they tend to chnage. from what i know of claw machines, they produce generic figs and plush items just for the claw machine so meaning you wont find it anywhere else.

I've cropped this picture but you can see he also got a Starwars still in the package melinium faulken. So for some reason this claw machine had really good stuff in there. BUT yes the color is accurate to the movie.

thats weird. star wars is a licensed product? i know the modern claw machines have licensed stuff nowadays but not the old ones. this is a tricky one...maybe try and talk to someone who owns a claw machine

Phantom. Like the Billy Zane movie. It's a comic that's been around for a quite a few decades (started in 1936 according to the wiki). Had toons, radio plays, and more too if I remember correctly.

If you look up merchandise for it, you should find what you're looking for.

Phantom: The ghost that walks. And it has other taglines too. You'll have to wiki it. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom )

FYI: dont believe everything wiki says, it can be modified. thats not a good source for info. plus he said he already looked up the merch and didnt find it.

Well the wiki doesn't have the merchandise. And I clarified as saying it's been around since "1936 according to the wiki". I missed the part that he already knew what it was though. I already stated the aspect that the information is at least what the wiki provided and the veracity of the info is debatable.

The Phantom merchandise is a pain to find archives for though. With how close the name is to phantom missing toylines etc, the results always come back rather mixed on searches. 97 lines up the Billy Zane movie though, so that will help in some searches.

So FYI: Preaching to the choir on that one. I've had to do a ton of research before on that character for other reasons. Speaking of, wish the new one did make it series. Kind of liked the new costume they did.

I'll take a deeper look here in a minute.

Would need a clearer photo. It matches a couple different things from that time frame between 95-97. Ebay may be your best bet to search, but the results will vary week to week. Be prepared to dig through a ton of Phantom Menace toys though to try and find it.

Might also want to try looking under "Defenders of the Earth" for it too. That might help limit down your searches to get around finding mostly phantom menace merchandise. Other than that, without a better picture, not much I can find to help. You'd need to find someone that's a Phantom completionist or otherwise dedicated collector.

thank you so much, very good information you have given me I will see what I can dig up. this is the only picture I have of it, was from that day. hopefully I find someone like you said a completionist?

I could be wrong however check the toy line i believe phanton 2040. I used to watch the cartoon as a kid and judging by the year you posted that, i'd say that's what it is.
