McFarlane Commando Spawn
|
Color Tops?
One, what does Color Tops mean? Two, why even add articulation to a figure that is essentially a small plastic statue?
|
I miss real Spawn figures.

thats a small statue not a figure. how come mcfalane doesnt do regular articulated figures? he is missing out on alot of $$$. if mcfalane was smart he would be the only one who can compete with marvel besides DC. he has the fan base and has that darker feel to his charcters. he should create new super hereos and compete against marvel and DC. he just stopped at spawn and The Maxx

I'd absolutely love an articulated Spawn figure like the way they were making the Walking Dead figures. Or at least how they used to make them before they switched to these "action statues" or whatever you wanna call them.

zero stars.

If you're not going to bother with real, practical articulation, then why break up the sculpt of the statue with all sorts of cuts everywhere?

By your logic, NECA might as well buy a fresh dog turd. |

I do agree that McFarlane needs to get with the times and make super articulated Spawn figures in the same vein as Marvel Legends. They would certainly sell very well. |
I believe Mcfarlane addressed to why he won't create "Marvel Legends" style articulation for his products. He mentioned he felt it was worthless and to a degree...I can agree. (you can find a video on youtube, I forgot which convention it was but it was pretty recent)
He wants his product to capture a specific artistic pose to it, but it leaves the question...why does he even bother with any articulation in the first place if that's your intend and just make them purely statues? you can make it look more detailed and reinforce them with better quality (I actually had one of the newer spawns snap on me and had to get it replaced) |
If he feels that the articulation is worthless then why were the figures from Walking Dead fully articulated or as previously mentioned even bother with it when it comes to these newer figures? Sorry but that doesn't make any sense.

I prefer static figures, since I stand them up on a shelf and never touch them again, for the most part. I should be a statue collector, but am not for these reasons…Cost, Selection, and Size.

Personally, I just can't collect static figures or statues. My figures have to have the basic ability to move, or I just don't know what to do with them. For me, visible articulation can sometimes be part of the aesthetic that I like about figures.
