Blitzway 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1
|
They did a great job on this, even if this is just the proto. I really hope though it makes the classic siren noise.
|
Holy shit. I also clicked the link in this article and looked at the pics of the figures themselves. Again, holy shit. This line is amazing. The likenesses are all unbelievable and an in-scale Ecto-1 is just orgasmic. I'm not the biggest Ghostbusters fan - I love the first movie, but I don't really collect the merchandise - but if I was, I would consider selling a few organs for this stuff.

My new holy grail.

This might very well be the coolest collectible I've ever seen. Been a Ghostbusters fan my whole life, never thought I would see something like this.
|
wow amazing. going to have to pick up the ecto and figs for my 1/6 scale collection.

Let's be honest. Who is going to buy this and put Darth Vader, Doctor Who, Doc Brown, and Iron Man in the seats for a photo shoot? Or all the cast of That 70's Show?
The particle thrower on top of the roof is the most underused tool in GB history. Ever. |
I didn't notice this at SDCC, but those big taillights underneath the bullet taillights? In the center, those are supposed to be backup lights. They should be white, not red. For $1400, they should get that right.

what a beauty
|
You know...you could put a down payment on an actual real car for that price.
I'm all up for collectibles like this...but 1400 bucks is simply ludicrous. |

I might do this when I get it. I've already put Michael Myers behind the wheel of one my Hot Toys Deloreans. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4460/...406256c1_o.jpgThreeZero Hallowen 6 - The Curse of Michael Myers (1) by Corrado Knight, on Flickr https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4473/...8f3872e6_o.jpgThreeZero Hallowen 6 - The Curse of Michael Myers (2) by Corrado Knight, on Flickr |
That thing is a thing of sheer beauty! Can't fathom paying that much for something like that though. Would love to see them get the lisences rights to make Knight Rider figures and a KITT.
|
I'm preordering this. The price point doesn't bother me because the car is massive, so materials alone will be costly. No doubt a lot of assembly is involved. And face it, this is the definitive collector's model of the car. Nobody is going to beat it.
