As always the pics look great. You have any qc issues with the shoulder joints on yours or the skirt? I've seen a few reviews online with those issues so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger unless it's $50 or less.

Storm quality is pretty damn good. I just got the MK ninjas and am quite pleased. Easily some of the best collectible figures. $50-$70 isn't too bad, when you factor in effects, different hands, articulation, etc. Marvel Select figures are $25 to $30 with limited articulation, few accessories.

My only "fear" is hoping Storm can keep up with their very ambitious productions... MK, SFV, Tekken, KOF, and all their sports related figurines... it may take 10 years to complete a single line. Lol

I have the Ryu and love it, no issues what so ever. But have seen a few reviews with people who are getting stress marks on the wrists and shoulder joints on theirs. And saw lots of reviews about Bison's shoulder socket joints being purposely cracked by Storm to circumnavigate the joint breaking (which is apparently happening), rather than redoing the joint and delaying release. May or may not be true about it being intentional, but I have seen broken shoulder joints for Bison. Tho I've not seen many complaints about their Mortal Kombat releases so many it's just a Bison issue mostly and nothing to worry about. Can't wait for the Tekken figures.

All of these pics are hilariously awesome. Fantastic work!

LordSagat 08-09-2017 11:53 AM

Thanks for the pics. I see you play SFV to some extent. It shows in the poses. Love seeing folks take the time out to pose their figures accurately doing moves from the game.

RE: QC issues

Didn't have any. The shoulder sockets are a bit loose, but I attribute those being like that due to the fact they are designed to be popped in/out so you can insert the folded arms. They will slide out during posing a bit easily due to that. But once you get the pose, just put a bit of pressure and they are back in place.

Skirt, no issues on either one. They are rubbery in nature so they bend around with your poses.

Overall both he and Ryu are solid bricks of plastic, sculpted and painted well, with good articulation. The only thing holding them back is their bulkyness, which isn't their fault, the game is like that. Limits range of the articulation a bit. SHF versions are more poseable, but they are less game accurate visually.

I used to, not so much anymore. I did pull up game footage so I could reproduce some moves this time. I had a running start on what to look for tho. :)

Thanks Tony, that's good to read. My Ryu is amazing, I haven't had any issues, so maybe I got too carried away in the reviews I saw about issues with Bison, or maybe there was just a few select people who had issues. Thanks again!

Game poses are good and all, but some times you gotta take it past what game designers will do...

My blog has game and scene accurate pics too, but I find that not as much fun as the unexpected. Whenever I can, I try to do crossovers or comedic shots... I do a lot of transformers stuff so it's sometimes difficult, but with things like these, neca tmnt, etc, I have the most fun. I figure there are thousands of sites for the serious collector. I try to appeal to the inner kid. Those moments when you were 7 and had He-Man and Dick Tracy having to save the TMNT from the forces of Cobra lead by Megatron!

From one collector to the next I gotta say that's a great spirit to have. Shows imagination too. I can't hate that. It's just cool when a figure can actually move in the right way to pull off a classic move or pose.

Yeah, it's cool to see recreations, whether it be game moves or re-enacted animation errors from 80's cartoons. ToyArk's photo galleries are beyond reproach when it comes to quality compositions. I have definitely used them for critiquing a potential purchase in the past.

That being said, I'll definitely be interested in these figures if/when they retool them into their SF2 versions (I have SFV, but it's far from my favorite).

SFV is definitely not my favorite either. I love that more obscure characters from the series and I'm happy to see some of them return to the series but I'm not happy with some of the redesigns. Namely Birdie lol. I'm a Alpha and 3rd Strike guy though.

Bipson here is close to 7 inches...but since he is known to soul jump from body to body, you can fudge him into your 6 inch collection. He is roughly the size of the Absorbing Man/Sandman Marvel Legends BAFs...
