All I've heard is people complain about the many delays to the original Red Skull release and they announce a variant? Hahahaha

He was shown last year at Comic Con so I think this version had been delayed too.

I guess Mezco are playing it safe and releasing him without the armband that was on the figure shown last year.

Just like the Hooded Punisher piece they pulled from the PX version. can't be too edgy.

Apparently, someone contacted Mezco customer service after the figure was put up for pre-order, and Mezco said it's still coming with that Hydra armband.

Is that impetus to remove the armband that it's too Nazi-looking or something? Kind of ridiculous that a very adult collectible oriented toy company would cave into that kind of whitewashing. Beyond that, he badly needs it to break up the solid green suit. He does look a hell of a lot better and more badass with the flamethrower on, so much so that I kinda want this version now.

e2a: They really should have done an effect piece for the flamethrower. Maybe that dildo-ey NECA piece from the Aliens weapon pack could be adapted.
