Not the biggest Mortal Kombat fan, but I like the looks of these, more so than most of Funko's ReAction offerings as of late. Tho, the box art for these is terrible. I hope they do other license in tis style as well.

This seems a bit random but, I kind of like it.

These aren't for me, I just really want Storm to make people other than Ninjas. Glad we got Shao Kahn, but others would be great.

These are really cool, but having just opened their Son of Zorn figure I can tell you they are quite a chore to stand up.

I do like these boat loads more than the reaction figures though, it is a cool way to pay homage to the retro/vintage lines with having a bit more freedom to make the sculpts more unique.

These are wacky! I'm surprised they picked a property like Mortal Kombat that has been plagued with such bad action figures. After Jazwares, I figured everyone just wanted good quality MK figures already. Thanks to Storm Collectibles this is a reality.
These may draw some 80s toys fan appeal, but I think the character designs are undesirable. Choosing MKX designs over MK Trilogy is questionable, Mezco didn't do so well with MKX. I would have preferred classic designs over MKX any day.
If they offer Shao Kahn, or Goro I may buy 1 just for the nostalgia. Otherwise these are a pass. I agree that the packaging could be better as well.

Interesting design choice for these. By the time MK came out, toys were well beyond this type of aesthetic. Doesn't make sense conceptually in that regard. However, they are fun looking. I actually love the repainted Fright Zone more than the figures themselves.

Agree that the card art is horrendous. It should be hand-painted artwork to match the concept.

Horrible, these are a pass for me. they took the vintage he man/zorn mold and put it on these figures. some people collect anything.

The same can be said for some of those ReAction figures as well. I'm curious if they're going to do more properties in this style..

Mortal Kombat came out in 1992, and figures were still of the uber muscular and unrealistically proportioned variety.

If they had done costumes MK 1-3 instead of these complex modern ones, I would have been down for these. I just don't like the new style of MK designs these days.

Yep. I love some of the ReAction figures, but specifically the ones for properties from the 80s that never received figures.

I disagree. The final series of Masters of the Universe figures were released in '88, and even by that point they were nowhere near as popular as they were just several years prior. By '92, ToyBiz was killing it with their X-Men line. Nowhere near the aesthetic of these MK figures.

How boring, they could have at least done like..actual characters new to MKX or something.

I guess someone could make an argument for TMNT figures in '92...squat looking, pre-posed bent legs..albeit more cartoony and nowhere near as buff. But, yeah, that aesthetic seems to be a callback to a specific period..mid 80s-ish MOTU,Remco, etc.

I know He-man proportions are wierd but they work with the more primitive sculpting. These look particularly squat and ugly, the modern sculpting and using new designs creates an eldritch abomination in my eyes.

Maybe if these were using classic designs and more retro style sculpting.

I know MKX is the most recent but I'm sick of seeing those designs.

I just realized Scorpion doesn't come with his spear, and Lui Kang comes with absolutely nothing. Not even a fireball? What sense does that make. I feel like Funko is rolling in money with Pops and they're just doing whatever they want, regardless if anyone else wants it to.

Well these came out from nowhere, but cool for those who dig 'em!

Would've been awesome if they had gone with the original character designs. Love the customized classic MOTU playset though : )

Whatever the highest quality action figure line was at the time is not necessarily reflective of how ALL action figures from that period looked. You still had the original Playmates Ninja Turtles line going as well as Kenner producing Batman Returns figures that were still using the Super Powers body templates from the mid 80s. Quality was all over the place in 1992, and not every line strove for realism.
