Mattel at Toy Fair 2018

Toy Fair 2018 Gallery - Mattel DC Figures

Toy Fair 2018 Gallery - Mattel Mega Construx Mini Figures, Tomb Raider Barbie and Minecraft

Nice, DeVito Penguin! Hopefully it doesn't suffer in translation to mass production, and that we get some more Burton Batman figures to go along with him.

Louise Belcher 02-18-2018 02:55 PM

That Tomb Rider Barbie is meh, no shoulder/elbow swivel and that sad dissapointed face truly symbolize Barbie state and the current girl toy market.

That movie Penguin looks pretty good and he doesn't really need double joints, but I don't think I will get him, maybe if I have good realstic Batman to go along. Wonder Women also look great and I say it as someone who hate her character (4th of July stipper with stupid rope weapon). I think I will wait for DC Essentials line offerings.

I need that Hellboy MegaBloks in my collection! Makes me wish he came with a playset, Amphibian and a big monster to fight:D! I hope they would later evolve this line to entire playsets and vehicles starting with He-Man.

So far and sadly, the articulated Indoraptor (awful name) is the best thing in ToyFair. His articulation may be still lacking from adult collector view, but considering how it took so long to make a decent articulated modren dinosaur toy, it's a good start and he doesn't cost too much. I really hope Mattel will make more well articulated dinosaurs later on. I may get the new JW hatchlings and other dnosaurs, though I don't have high hopes they will be solid and heavy (meaning they will actually be hollow and light).

Despite She-Ra getting new Netfelix show (please don't let the character designs suck, please!), there's no toy revales and continuation for that SDCC She-Ra action doll as I hoped (please Mattel don't let the new action dolls suck, please!)

xenobill 02-18-2018 03:34 PM

whats up with the two different "villian dinosaur" figures they have different price points and release windows but dont appear that significantly different from each other.

Dr Kain 02-18-2018 03:45 PM

Anything on Monster High?

Also, why is there a Darkseid head just randomly sitting by Harley? Is he a new BAF?

Have they said anything about the $25 line?

Batman1989 1997 02-18-2018 03:52 PM

This Penguin figure looks promising but I would just like to see a Nicholson Joker!

LordMudd 02-18-2018 03:54 PM

and STILL nobody says what scale they are! They look 4" primarily due to the lack of articulation, but that is meaningless where Mattel is concerned.

I think it's a mistake and it was supposed to be other toy which probably have electronics in the more expensive price tag.

Monster High is dead since the reboot, there won't be anything interesting or good quality anymore in this toyline. It's time to let go.

Which figures?

Wonderful Toys 02-18-2018 04:27 PM

I'm guessing the Jurassic World figures since they're new and there's no way to tell what size they are because there's nothing to compare them to in the pictures.

The Jurassic World human figures were said to be small. Smaller than 3.75" scale. That info was part of the story.

Tomax 02-18-2018 04:54 PM

Hey Joe, thanks for the coverage! :pics

Snowflakian 02-18-2018 05:02 PM

Heck yes! More he-man mega construx! Now if only they'd do She-Ra already.
Hope next series does Teela and She-ra. But man at arms and Evil-Lyn are great additions too. And glad to see terminators added! All they need now is robocop.

Teela should be hitting stores now. She's part of the current wave with Beast Man.

Oh, my mistake. I have a bad habit of looking at the pictures and not reading sometimes.

Oh! Sweet! Thanks. Will have to keep an eye out for that. That'd knock down my he-man/she-ra list then to Hordak and She-ra as well as the Sorceress, and a King Grayskull.

Now if only they'd do Robocop(new and old), metal gear solid/Revengence, and Power Rangers movie style like these. And I'd have nearly the rest of everything I'd want in these minifigures besides GI Joe that's not likely to happen any time soon. Though COD has some great close ones. Kinda want Max Steel in these too. (New and old.) And Metroid, and Ninja Gaiden. Oh god what I wouldn't give for a Hayabusa and the other ninjas from that.

LordMudd 02-18-2018 06:36 PM

No, the DC stuff, but I found an article on Facebook by an up and coming true journalist who included that info in his article.

Been waiting on the second wave but nothing…

I really want Mattel to take their time and perfect their processes, before they start tackling anything else. DeVito Penguin could be the gateway drug that finally gets me a Pfieffer Catwoman, and I don't want anything to mess that one up!!

Wait, what reboot? When did they cancel the line? They just had new figures out back in Oct. Did they announce it was done?

Then why don't you follow them instead of bitching here.

You know the reboot from last year or two, when they turn everything into more "kid friendly" with cutesy faces, non articulated bodies and molded clothes. The line slowly dies and will eventually do so. It would be better to let Monster High die with some dignity that it still left.

That depends. Do you speak for everyone that you don't like looking at my pics?
