Fury Files Silver Surfer Marvel Classics 2009
Everybody's favorite inter-dimensional traviler has landed at the ToyArk War Room. Norrin Radd AKA The Silver Surfer does not disappoint. With a super articulated body that holds form in tough poses, this is my pick for the Best figure of Marvel Universe 2009 Fury Files Wave 1.
As you can see by the Images provided, you can re-produce just about any surf move you can come up with. The only time the figure fails is bending head over feet. Very easy to over-look when you can still get 100's of classic signature poses out of this 3 3/4 Surfer. This is hands down the best figure of Wave 1 and receives a rare 10 out of 10 overall rating. If your looking to test drive this line, this is your figure. Images: http://www.toyark.com/news/marvel-to...urfer-003-348/ |
I wish he was reflective chrome, instead of a dull silver finish!

I'm sure that's a repaint repaint Hasbro will do down the line. Kinda like the Cobra Commander and Destro game. |
*Sigh* As if collecting TFs wasn't enough, I do believe I've found another awesome line here. Can you hear that? It's my money fluttering away!
|
I'm not sold on some of your arm posing here; but this does look like a nice fig indeed. How's he look with BAFlactus?

Yeah I know I am not the best photographer on the planet. I just want people to be able to see the articulation. I'm still learning and adjusting my photo booth. Sorry about the orange tint. |
Looks pretty damn good for the size. I'm not that wild about that style of leg/waist articulation, but at the size and given the nature of the design I guess it works ok for Surfer

is this out now?

I couldn't wait. :D

chrome on plastic doesnt last very long, it starts coming off and showing white after awhile, and he IS named the SILVER surfer, he looks awesome too!

Yes, his name is the Silver Surfer. Every portrayal I've seen of the Silver Surfer has been a reflective silver or "chrome"! http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...SurferPose.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...lk/surfer1.gif http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...ver_Surfer.jpg |

When you're chroming a full figure, such as C-3PO the joints cause it to rub and flake. That's why Hasbro doesn't articulate Vac-Metal C-3PO's as much as they do most figures. Or have done what they did with the Surfer, a 'Silverish' color. |

A silver/gray finish Silver Surfer for the collector's who play with their toys. A chrome finish Silver Surfer (chase variant) for the MOSC collector's. |

I don't think the pictures do it justice. This figure actually has a nice finish to him but not his board which is dull. The sculpt and size are great on this figure. :)
Here some crappy cell phone pics with other 3 3/4" figs.. |

And 10/10 for this figure is way too high. Surfer is by far the easiest figure to sculpt and detail in any line. It shouldn't get a perfect score just because the character has the most mininal design imaginable. |

I imagine that would make an effect similar to the MaterialForce Shining Coat figs Takara tried a couple of years ago. I didn't think it was very successful.
