Guillermo del Toro NECA SDCC 2018 Exclusive - The Toyark - News |
HA! Thats awesome!
Oh no. That's just too great. I definitely want that. While they're at it why don't they just make Steven Spielberg.
Well, that's a SDCC exclusive I can very easily pass on!
No offense to Del Toro...I enjoy his movies and all, but I have zero interest in owning the man in action figure form. |
As a film buff and massive Del Toro fan I must own this! I would love some more directors too, having Cronenberg, Fulci, Argento, Carpenter and Romero all hanging out on my shelf would be amazing!
Not gonna lie, I kinda want this.
Well this is a fun exclusive. So now NECA has done Quentin Tarantino (a few times actually), James Cameron, and Guillermo del Toro. Am I missing any one there, are there director figures they've made that I don't know of?
On the subject of GdT, dammit I can't wait for the Pan's Labyrinth figures to come out but I already know it's probably gonna be a while. I've had the Pale Man on pre-order since it was listed and I'm checking every other day to see when the Faun will go up (probably not until after SDCC or later I figure). I also hope we see something new at SDCC, fingers crossed for an Amphibian Man from The Shape of Water. |

Just like the Cameron Colonial Marine figure, this is a big easy pass for me.
I thought it was an elderly harry potter figure

It's a pretty interesting choice. It makes sense as an exclusive, as I doubt there would be any real retail support for this as a wide release. As much as I've enjoyed numerous del Toro films, I don't have much interest in this. I've never been into the idea of action figures based on filmmakers. It's why I passed on the James Cameron figure. But the response on their pages has been pretty positive, so clearly they have an audience.
The only one that might interest me is a 60's or 70's George Romero. Even then, it would need to be a spot on perfect likeness with a bunch of accessories. |
I know why they went Mego style for this…$$$…but I think it would be more appealing if it matched the rest of the GdT figures. That's one of the reasons the Cameron figure works.
