How is this happening? I thought there was a big scuffle over the rights and this game was done being supported and updated?

It's a collected edition of everything that has been released so far. But there will be no future updates to the game (outside of server tweaks and possible bug fixes). Once they got drawn into the lawsuit, that was it for new content. They've already removed the designers from working on the game.

Im temped to finally try this game out, but the long term future of online play seems to be on shaky ground. Anyone have any comment on the single player mode?

There's two modes...bot mode (where you play as the Jason of your choice against AI counselors) and single player challenges, which are a series of story-based missions where you play as Jason with various objectives (some hidden) that need to be met.

The AI of the bots is surprisingly decent and the mode itself is fun, but sometimes they do retarded things (like getting stuck in a loop of jumping through the same window over and over). The devs said they will continue doing bug fixes and addressing balance issues, so the AI will likely improve (it's already much better than when they introduced the mode).

Single player challenges are a lot of fun...think the PS2 game Manhunt, but slightly more simple. Downsides are the fact that the opening movie to each level is NOT skippable (annoying if you screw up and have to re-start the level a few times...hopefully will be fixed in a future update) and a lack of replayability once you've beaten all the objectives in all the missions. But it's a blast while it lasts.

BTW, you'd recommend you buy this game now just to get in on the online action while it lasts. It's so much fun, especially if you're an F13 fan.

As a litigation handler i dont get it. I get what theyre saying about no new content. Problem is this DOES contain new content. Not new code but it uses the intellectual property for newly designed packaging and the new limited editio poster.
