What To Do With The Madcap Head?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys. I'm actually kinda excited that the new X-Men Deadpool came with an alternate head and hat from Madcap, but it just doesn't look right on that body. Any suggestions for a Marvel Legends figure that it would look good on, perhaps something a tiny bit closer to his original look in the comics? I don't feel like painting, however, so it doesn't have to be exact color-wise or design-wise. Just something that works decently.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

i was literally looking at that this morning and i have no idea who Madcap is.
I took the pimp hat and sat it on the pimp troopers (han solo movie)head. though the helmet doesn't really fit IN it.

i also was wondering what to do with this..
but i was certain i'd see someone doing something clever with it in the future.

If I had to use any figure as a base for a simple headswap custom, I'd go with Batroc or Zemo, since they have similar colors to the character. I would trade out the boots though for the pirate type boots the Dark Phoenix Cyclops came with, which you should be able to do with a simple hot water swap.

Why did they put this head and hat with this particular Deadpool?

Why spend the tooling dollars to release it this way instead of doing an easy kitbash later?

you could gender bend it and put it on the Hellcat body.....

Oooo.....both REALLY good suggestions. I'm actually having a hard time figuring out which one to go with.

Leaning towards Zemo (EDIT: just checked ebay...Batroc is WAY cheaper!). We'll see! Thanks for the suggestions, dude.

Any other suggestions in the meantime are welcomed...

Yeah, seriously. They could have cheaped out and just used the standard male buck...it would have worked fine.

just have Deadpool carry it around- He cut it off (briefly).

The Madcap head looks pretty good on the Paladin body.

Starlord67 09-26-2018 03:03 PM

I put it on the batroc body with a purple cape.

Im leaning toward an AoA morph custom i think as i have no idea who madcap is. Doesnt help you one bit unfortunately, but food for thought for others perhaps!

If you do that, you may want to use some putty/epoxy/whatever to smooth out some of the wrinkles, and make the face look a little less menacing.

And fill in the nostrils.

As for the base, I have no idea. I just use the Madcap head instead of the Deadpool head, and roll with it. Just looks like Madcap had to make do with what was in the dumpster :D

You could always.......

^ Why though? It's the better head.

To watch something blow up? ;)

I accomplished this by applying conditional text to the heading that I wanted to show in the PDF. If the h2 heading is the heading that you want to show, set that as conditional text for print only. When you build the PDF, check of to include the print only conditional text in your print target.

Morph was super easy- and since I'm good with my Hasbro official figures rarely being 100% costume accurate I'm A-OK with a head-swap custom not being 100% accurate! If folks can look at it and think "Oh yeah- that's Morph" then I'm good with it.
