I hope to god this won't be an exclusive of some sort like the previous Pamela/Jason 2 pack was. That figure was a nightmare to get my hands on when it dropped.

Happy to see more of Pamela though. I hope we see a two pack of both Pamela figures (alive and undead) in the 7 inch scale soon.

buddyboy101 12-13-2018 05:53 AM

Can't see myself buying any more F13 figures until they release Jason from Part 7 and/or Part X.

Dolemite 12-13-2018 09:04 AM

Oh, yes. I'll be all over this one when it hits.

That's a bummer that you had such a hard time with it. I nabbed it quite easily...when NECA's SDCC sale began on their website, I jumped and ordered it right away, no problem.

What happened to you? Did you miss the sale and have to resort to taking it up the ass from an ebay scalper?

xenofanlv426 12-13-2018 09:54 AM

I didn't understand that part. her head was severed in the first movie.

It mostly had to do with NECA's website and the way they interfaced with PayPal as a payment option. Between the crashes along with the constant redirecting (and being forced to resign into) PayPal, it made getting through to checkout difficult, only to find it gone from the cart. In addition, Neca was not accepting PayPal Credit as a form of payment at the time, further complicating matters.

That said, I was able to get ahold of it early into the third day of SDCC that year. Thankfully NECA has since made improvements to the stability of their website, (as well as improve their PayPal options) otherwise it would have been impossible for me to have obtained their Turtle diorama set this past year.

The only NECA SDCC exclusive that I have had to get through second hand means so far has been the original NES Jason, which I grabbed at my LCS that year, since I believe it wasn't possible to purchase their exclusives online at the time.

It's a dream sequence, and she's technically a ghost. I imagine she can appear however she would like.

On a side note, didn't Randy promised three new Ultimate Jason figures by the end of next year? Seeing that there is now a head sculpt for this, I can very easily see this being converted into a new Ultimate Pamela figure, complete with swappable arms and head so you can have Pamela as alive and well, or as the ghostly Lady of the Lake.

Except that they don't have the likeness rights for her anymore. The last "Mego" one was done as a special arrangement with the actress before she passed away. Randy has said they will not be pursuing the rights anymore.

Yep. I doubt we’ll ever get another Part 1 Pamela.

Wouldn’t rule out another shrine, but beyond the Jason part 7, 8, 10, and JvF I can’t see what they have left. Roy, Uber Jason, not sure what else they can do.

An extra accessory set could include the shrine, a cabin facade, a sleeping bag, maybe body parts (though I’d imagine the sculpts would be expensive). NECA have already said they won’t do victims, so I think this line is drying up.

They could always do a generic version of her (like the upcoming Kenner Apone.) Old lady in a blue sweater. Nothing too fancy or difficult. I'd settle for it, and as long as the body is there, it shouldn't be too hard to customize a headswap from the original figure.

They could always hunt down the actress from the reboot film or FvJ if they are really worried about the likeness rights to Betsy Palmer...

If they don't follow up though, that'll be a shame...especially with all of the parts now pretty much sculpted and only in need of minor tune ups here and there to kitbash together Jason's beloved mother...

I bet they could get the rights if they really wanted, this seems more like another case of "we don't think it'd be worth the time/effort"

Haha!

Yeah I wasn’t all that excited by the Ultimate Alien Warrior figures either.

To be fair, NECA are trying to squeeze every bit of life out of this series that they possibly can. Part 5 dream sequence (which had quality heads, to be fair), Reboot Jason, and MECO dead Pam are all quite fringe choices. Uber would be an easy choice for the next ultimate.

My prediction:

Uber
FvJ
Part 7
Part 8
Part 10 (normal Jason)

Of course NECA could troll us and release every possessed human version of Jason from 9 instead.

Don’t mean to sound like I’m moaning about NECA’s F13th stuff. I’m eternally grateful for my Part 6 and rock/sign accessory.

The Aliens have had toe articulation since series 1. The new articulation on the Ultimates, as previously seen on the VGA version, are new knees and finger hinges.

I've been wondering about the new Ultimate Alien Warrior. They've been popping up at my Target lately, and I'm wondering if they're worth purchasing at all if you already have a couple of the original releases. Are the new knees a big improvement and/or more stable than the originals, or is there really not much of any difference?

I don't know the ins and outs of what is different and how so, but I do know that the Ultimates stand really well on their own and the calf parts are way less warped than the previous releases. Not sure if that helps you, though.

I usually keep the old figures on display with the Ultimates when they come out, but with these, I am at least going to put the older ones in storage, if not try to sell.

evilekim 12-14-2018 11:58 AM

Cool figure! I kind of wish she had some accessories, but I can’t really think of anything to include other than lake mud.
I’m surprised people had issues finding the Pam and Jason set. NECA sold them in Toys R Us and online. Plus they didn’t sell out that fast. Funny thing about the mego line is that so many knock it or don’t buy them initially...then a year or 2 later they change their mind and have to spend tons of money. Some even want them rereleased. Take my advice, buy it soon as you can if you are remotely interested. Otherwise you’ll pay $60+ within the first year of release.

SpasticPlastic 12-14-2018 02:38 PM

Very true. There were a ton at my TRU. I passed on it, like most of the earlier retro figures. I typically just buy them if they are something that won't see release in all plastic form. But, I do wish now that I would have bought 5 or 6 of the the Pamela sets just to make some extra money.

Looks cool. I wonder if they could have done something really fun with the art here. Like have the card artwork show final girl Chris in the boat, with a paper insert in front of the Pamela figure, like she's coming up behind the boat.

They probably would have needed the rights to Chris' likeness. Maybe?

Anyway, great figure...and it's a bummer that the NECA Jason/F13 drought officially begins right when this figure is released. :(

Yeah, probably. But they coulda fudged it and had her head turned so you couldn't see her face. Oh well, just an idea.

Which is why they should keep stores plenty stocked in the figures they have done, to keep the hype going. Plus, so those of us that missed out on the other figures for not being millionaires can finally have a chance to get them.

Well, NECA does have a re-release of their Ultimate Part 6 Jason scheduled for later this month, so I guess they can put out older figures at least.

Yes, anything that they have finished, they are apparently allowed to restock. It was just new items they had to cease working on after a certain point. I've seen the Jason's parts 2 - 6 on shelves over the past month between Target and Walmart.
