MOTU Vintage Wave 3
|
Well, they all look pretty cool. I hope they do more regular figures in this fashion. Its interesting that people are leaking theses photos. I guess the line is becoming popular enough or people will leak anything. I don't know. I'm gonna get these and I'm glad there are more coming. I wonder if Mattel will jump into the mix finally and make some of their MOTU stuff from the last few conventions available. I remember them showing a 5.5" Anti-Eternia He-Man.

That's a large wave. Still no Ram-Man.
Wonder why they feel the need to make the women's left hand as useless as the originals. There's no reason to entirely mimic the toy line pose since the whole point is a different, cartoon look. I mean, Shadow Weaver doesn't even look like a vintage toy. |
Evil-Lyn includes a Dilithium Crystal

Cool! I just received wave one from BBTS yesterday.
|
Have they re-engineered the hip joints? Because two broken figures out of the four I bought ain't cool....
|
I did see super7 said the hips are better now. My 2-pack figures have not broke yet,but I’m scarred to move them much. Then the funko thundercats and amazon dc primal figures all broke at the hips as well. Why are toys from 40 years ago holding up and new figures can’t?
Anyway, these look awesome. I read that pics of evil seed are floating around as well. I hope a filmation castle grayskull is coming soon. |

In all honesty, the older figures just had rubber bands and most people say the joints are wobbly on them now. Some people have commented that the people who have broken legs should have loosened them up with some kind of hot water or a hair dryer. Ball Jointed leg joints are the way to go with these figures. Rubber bands will eventually wear out. Ball jointed legs for these kinds of figures are a new thing and companies will figure it out
|
Leg joints for those MOTU style figures were already perfected like 35 years ago. Mattel were the only ones using rubber bands, IIRC. Everyone else doing Motu style in that era ( most notably Remco) were already doing some variation of a ball joint. Non of the mass QC issues that have plagued Super 7's and Funko's recent figures...those things can't even stay intact while untouched on the blister card.

Nice. I grabbed Crystal MaA and Golden He-Man, because why not. Also grabbed Orko cuz he can work with Grayskull guys, and Trap-Jaw because he was my #1 OG MOTU fig and I don't have a vintage one here.
I was not expecting to be doing this at all, those tricky mofos. :) |
Who even wants to buy this trash. Waste of good sculpt material
|
I’m going to grab the main Filmation style figures. The 3 variants don’t do much for me.

However, I tapped out on those for now. May pick up singles for higher price later. |
i know this design is based on cartoon but they made Orko kinda goofy looking like the original. (the original fig didnt look like the cartoon) ill pass but i do wanna see his weapons. the mattel version is king, thats what i got.
