1000toys Master Chief

5 Attachment(s)
The people behind that awesome Hellboy figure which came out a few months ago are touching a new IP: They’re making a 1/12 scale Master Chief figure from Halo, depicting his Mark V armor from the very first game.

The prototype was displayed at an art gallery event in Tokyo (Arts Chiyoda); the pictures were taken by an attendee and published on his blog.

Thank you for sharing!

"You need a weapon?"

Damn, John-117 is looking a little thicc

protostar8 06-17-2019 06:26 AM

Do we know what the price point is of this or similar figures they have produced?

Joe Moore 06-17-2019 06:35 AM

Their Devil May Cry figures retail for roughly $130.

Price point is unknown, previous figures from them came in at about 100-130 bucks though. Considering Master Chief doesn't feature any soft goods I would assume he could be on the less expensive side.

1000toys released a Hellboy figure a few months ago which Tony Bacala took a very detailed look at:

https://news.toyark.com/2019/05/23/1...gallery-346447

They also made two Devil May Cry V figures which are published by Sentinel and available for pre-order:

https://news.toyark.com/2019/06/10/s...-figure-348274

I personally have the Hellboy figure and am satisfied with it. Very much worth the price IMO, and I'm interested in picking up this Master Chief figure as well.

poeghostal 06-17-2019 08:03 AM

Just last night I was lamenting the lack of a good 1/12 scale Master Chief from the first game, and here it is. Wow. Definitely a must-buy for me.

Zorn88 06-17-2019 08:35 AM

Don't like it. Too anime for me.

Huh... aside from the helmet being a bit narrow it doesn’t look too far off the CG model IMO.

I certainly don’t get an animated vibe from it.

Dmar1994 06-17-2019 09:16 AM

6.5 t 7 inches seems small for a Master chief figure since his height in canon is listed at 6'10 without his armored suit while he's 7'2 in the Spartan armor so I think maybe 8 inches would be a better scale for an action figure of him. Also I can't tell if this is the Halo 1 armor (Mark V) by the helmet and pouches on his waist so that's probably why it looks off or anime-ish to you Zorn88.

Still don't know why they decided to choice this armor over the Halo 2 and 3 armor (Mark VI) since that one is the more popular look and he's more buffier in that armor. Still would be great to see what 1000 toys does with this even would love to see if they add some great weathering paint on the armor

Their Hellboy figure is 7.5″, Dante is 6.3″, if they want a scale between their figures then the Chief should be about Hellboy's height.

His size is just an estimate for now though; we don't really know how big the figure is until they tell us.

The helmet gives it away, although I also didn’t recognize the pouches at first. Turns out the CG model of the first game had them though, I just never noticed them.

To be honest the Mark VI would've been my go-to as well, but getting a Mark V isn’t bad either. Especially since the Mark VI is most likely already in the planning stage.

dukefett 06-17-2019 10:27 AM

I'm not a giant Halo fan, so I'm not as familiar with the armor, but the whole crotch/hip area looks odd or too wide. I'm assuming it's to help with articulation.

jeff117 06-17-2019 02:06 PM

This company is high on my standars list! They put out amazing products, and they are phenomenal with feedback, so any problems you have with it aside from design, let them know cause they will listen. My issue is the shoulders. I'm sure they will have that fixed in a later proto. But this looks great considering how fresh this is out of the mold. Even the weapons are right off the printer and the knees look single jointed but I'm sure they are just a place holder for now. I'm pumped!!!!

That’s also true. They fixed those awful looking knee joints on Hellboy before release which I'm very grateful for.

The thighs are oversized and the shoulders are too small and narrow. He's very anime-ized and looks odd compared to the in-game model.

That, and the joints make it look like a mecha. Why are the elbows, shoulder, and hips so robotic looking?

JerpJerp 06-21-2019 09:54 PM

I dig it, sold!

Love my 1000 Toys Hellboy, and this Master Chief looks really nice, may have to order this.

Chopper Face 08-29-2019 09:33 AM

I’ve want everything I’ve seen from 1000 Toys but they just aren’t tackling any properties I’m invested in enough to drop the cash. Absolutely beautiful figures nonetheless and I’ll be keeping my eye on them for future releases.

ddarko 08-29-2019 09:58 AM

Did he have those two black things sticking out from his head like that in the games? It’s been awhile, and I honestly can’t remember that being there :o

Since I got Hellboy everything with the label "1000toys" has my attention. It's an amazing piece and I cannot wait to get more of these figures.

Always enjoyed playing Halo back in the day so getting this is a no-brainer, I love the updated yet accurate look. It's not too stylized yet works much better than the updated versions of the Mark V featured in later Halo games IMO.

It’s also good to know that they're making more - a Mark VI is happening for sure, but I hope we also get some Covenants.

Yup, those are there. And don’t worry; I didn’t remember this armor had pouches around the waist either :D

It just looks off. Maybe it's the color, maybe it's the sculpt. Something's just not quite right about it???

avengerboy123 08-29-2019 08:54 PM

I do, in fact, need this.
