HORDAK?!?!?! EEEP! She-Ra next year? maybe????

OriginalFire 07-18-2019 10:47 AM

Man Mondo is killin it. I'm down for their MOTU stuff and most of the other stuff

an99 07-18-2019 10:53 AM

Nice MOTU figures, but at a $150 a figure, these are an easy pass.

If you get a chance, get a hold of He-Man. These things are built like 1:12 scale action figures. These are solid, and pics don't do them justice.

Figures somewhat bizarre

toe 07-18-2019 11:15 AM

I really hope Mondo does a Battle Cat someday and some 1/6 Thundercats!!

I would easily fork over $300 for a battlecat at this scale... with a pseudo leather and brass saddle and helm.

Mostly because they aren’t pure 1983. These take a little from the live movie, a little from the 200x cartoon, a little from the 80’s cartoon, and a little re-imagining and throws it all together. In hand, it’s a beauty. Subtle shading on the muscles, the feel of the fake leather and the battle damage built into the armor and weapons. There is a ton of work put into these.

I love this compared to a simple cash grab of enlarging the 1980’s figure or taking a generic 1/6 scale body and slapping on a customized head. Really is a great line. Dunno how many deep I’ll go. Currently have he-man in hand and skeletor on preorder. Mer-man was my favorite as a kid... but I’m nervous of falling down a rabbit hole, especially after pledging for Unicron. Toys are $$$$$$$$.

90% of the 1/6 scale stuff that I would buy Mondo is making it. Like He-Man, TMNT and Batman. I like what they are doing also. Way cheaper than Hot Toys and I think they do a better job than Hot Toys would have done

Totally agree with this. Hot Toys looks great if your goal is to make a 1:6 scale wax museum. They are very lifelike. Can't really mess with them. They are "pose and walk away slowly" figurines. The Mondo feels the opposite. It almost begs to be picked up. I really hope their MOTU line has a strong following and continues. I can probably fit at most 6 on the shelf my He-Man is on.

those mechs are really really cool.

Hm, mondo seem to have passed under my radar somehow - this is the first I’ve seen of them, and they look pretty great! So are they an ‘American figurarts/mafex’ kind of thing? And what’s the articulation like on them? It looks ok, not great, in comparison to those Japanese lines.

littlewolvie 07-19-2019 12:11 AM

I was initially excited about Kratos, but at 230 bucks (probably even more in Europe), I'll pass. That's simply too much for a blown up Neca/Marvel Legends style figure. :-(

Jadeb 07-19-2019 01:53 PM

Wonder if there's any chance that Skeletor's head and staff glow in the dark.

I thought the same thing. It definitely looks like it does.

They are amazing. I got the he-man. Almost 12” tall. Articulation in the neck, feet, legs, knees, torso, elbow, shoulders, etc. typical action figure fare. Heavy, and the attention to detail is damn near art.

Can take a closer look at he-man if you go to my signature.

I think that’s what separates it from the regular release.

RolandofGilead 07-19-2019 04:08 PM

I'm thinking of ordering He-man from BBTS now that I've seen Mer-man in all his glory.
