Thought this thread would be a fun place to discuss the DCEU.

I've been really digging what the DCEU has been doing lately. I loved Aquaman and Shazam was awesome too, I think there is some hope for the future. The only movie I liked from the "old era" was Suicide Squad (which I know is controversial to like).

However, I have been thinking that they have painted themselves into a corner with continuity issues, given that both Affleck and Cavill are out now. If Shazam hadn't referenced the previous era of the DCEU so heavily, they could have basically rebooted while keeping the actors they liked as their respective characters. But they didn't, so if they recast I'm not sure how it's going to work.

I think they have three options:
-recast, accept continuity issues
-stop referencing Superman and Batman, maybe allude to them retiring
-Flashpoint

Well Mamoa might be out as well since he's starting some weird Anti telescope campaign

I don't think the campaign is weird at all. And I don't think he will be out, Aquaman was a smash hit and Momoa is a big part of what made audiences appreciate the character.

I like all of the DC movies.
Have you seen the TMNT/Bats movie?

On the Jason Momoa thing he’s definitely not going anywhere. Especially for just being a activist. Look at Mark Ruffalo in the MCU. He did the same thing for the pipeline in North Dakota. And he wasn’t “fired” or “Out”

I'm a DC guy in general, but even I don't like EVERY DC Movie (I'm looking at you: Batman & Robin, Solo Catwoman and Green Lantern)

That’s how I am. I definitely prefer Dc Comics to Marvel comics. But on the movies I prefer the MCU at least recently. Dc movies are either hit or misses. Like the ones you listed. And I’d throw in Suicide Squad(For the villain and belly dancing alone). Dark Knight is still probably the best superhero film imo. Aquaman was actually a giant surprise. Wasn’t expecting to enjoy that whatsoever but ended up loving it.

Suicide Squad was definitely one of the weakest DCEU movies, though I'm hoping with James Gunn doing the 2nd one it'll be a lot better. I also think Steel is terrible, and what they did to Justice League was just sad, but I loved Man of Steel and BvS more than the average person seems to.

I'm really hopeful for some of the stuff coming out. Joker looks promising, Wonder Woman 84 should be cool, I've heard good things from the test screenings of Birds of Prey and I can't wait for Aquaman 2, cuz like you said, that first one was a massive surprise at how good it was.

Yeah man! SS I actually didn’t like at all. But Man of steel I thought was great same goes for the ultimate edition of BVS. Thought that was excellent.
Joker looks great. Birds of prey got me excited when Ewan and Mary Elizabeth signed on. Aquaman 2 is gonna be great as well cuz I loved the first. Wonder Woman 84 is the only that’s got me worried. It’s been postponed twice if I remember correctly. And don’t know if Wigg will do a good job as Cheetah

I hope they fix deadshot so hes actually caucasian and being in bronze tiger. Maybe the first ss movie was just a vr sim or a bad nightmare that waller had. Either way they need to cast either ian somerhalder or mark valley as the REAL floydd lawnton. ;)

Yup, I like every DC movie even Suicide squad. the only thing i dont like is Jack Nicholson's Joker, i thought his acting was mediocre.

But that's MY opinion...

Even Catwoman, Green Lantern, Jonah Hex and Steel?

^^ I'll say that parts of Green Lantern were solid. I liked all the stuff on Oa and Mark Strong was perfect casting as Sinestro.

Hopefully sometime soon WB will get their collective s**t together and finally make Man of Steel 2 with Brainiac as the villain.
