July 2010 Yamato Macross Plus YF-19 Reissue
 

ARG. i absolutely LOVE my yf-19. and i think i'm one of the only people on the planet that has had absolutely no problem with mine (non-locking chest aside). it also happens to be my favorite macross valk of all time. this brighter version makes me want to buy it! ESPECIALLY if it has more tampo markings.

but knowing my luck yamato will announce a version 2.0 in a year of two (after the fire kai and inevitable blazer, of course).

2012 is the 30th Anniversary for Macross...so I think if we are going to see a 2.0(which I hope for), the earliest will be 2012. If it's as solid as the VF-11 and V2 1/60 VF-1, we are in for a treat.

i was thinking the same thing(s). hopefully yamato is holding out some great announcements for wonderfest...at the very least full cad renderings OR a resin fire kai prototype??? here's to hoping...

Anyone have a review which compares YF-21 and VF-22 gamlin? I don't know which I should buy or both??

Any improvements to the re-released YF-21?

A prototype of some sort will be shown but they have only been working on it for the past 5 months.

The biggest differences are that the VF-22 cannot mount the gunpods on the belly plates in fighter mode. The belly plates actually sculpted barrels for the gunpods that are visible, to represent the internally mounted gunpods in the anime. For battroid mode, you can use the 2 gunpods included.

Both gunpods can be mounted unofficially in the gap between the wing fold. Also, the head sculpt is different, as well as the cockpit(reminiscent of the "Malcolm Hood" on the P-51B Mustang).

Tks for all the answers! I need some professional help. Got a new reissue YF-21 and YF-19 from a japanese retailer.

Have a niggling suspicion they used the boxes from the reissues but replaced the planes with the old ones!

For example, the turbine in the reissue boxes have two holes for the covers to be put in, but my plane only has 1 hole. The 1 hole model seems to be from the original issue rather than the 2010 reissue.

Can you pls tell me any other details I can use to determine if the vendor actually replaced those two planes pls? This suspicion is killing me!

Any pics? The reissue YF-19 is molded in a brighter tan/beige. As for the YF-21 it's hard to say, as there are no deco differences AFAIK, I did hear that the belly plates might be easier to align.
