I wouldn't mind picking up the Rebirth 2 Batman, maybe. I've held off. Mainly because once Joe pointed out the weird arm proportions it was all I could.

warmachine6 10-02-2019 08:37 AM

WOW good job DC essentials 8 re-painted figures and no expansion on the universe, I hope this is like previews ... This is shocking

Dolemite 10-02-2019 09:02 AM

So "DCeased" is essentially a rip-off of Marvel Zombies, I take it?

Woah, yeah. Those arms are gorilla long, dude.

They mentioned at Toy Fair or SDCC that the line was meant to have ended but its success has made them decide to keep it going, maybe these repaints are a stopgap while they work on more tooling and stuff? I hope so anyway because it's certainly disappointing.

I’m one of the biggest Essentials fan you can find but the Only one of those essentials that I’m picking up is Flash Speed Force. That’s just because he’s the flash, but The rest are easy passes. Maybe Superman(Regeneration suit) if he’s like $14 on Amazon. But that’s about it. I was hoping for some Flash Villains. Like mirror master, Cap cold. Or maybe a stargirl not some random repaints.

They both involve Zombies but DC did it different and it was creative. It's not a rip off. I can't say anything else without spoiling stuff

Yep I think that’s probably the case they just wanted to get some product out while they work and took new figures. Because you can tell these were rushed.

Dr Kain 10-02-2019 10:37 AM

Who needs Captain Cold, Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, Star Sapphire, Jonah Hex, The Spectre, when you can have a red translucent repaint of Flash and beaten up versions of Batman, Superman, Joker, and Harley? I guess they gotta make use of those highly expensive, individually sculpted molds they used to make each character unique. :p

jwyss234 10-02-2019 12:05 PM

Out of all the new Essentials figures, New 52 Nightwing is the only one of interest to me. I might pick up the regeneration suit Superman but he's not a priority for me. I have no interest in the zombie figures and I made my own version of the 2.0 Batman a couple of months ago.

I'm kind of surprised they aren't releasing their original design for Rebirth Superman or making Silver Age versions of Green Lantern and Sinestro. It just seems like it would have been easier. Also, if we're getting a new 52 Nightwing, I wonder if we'll see a New 52 Batman anytime soon.

Completely agree.

I may have to check that out, then. Thanks.

I'm sure everyone's tired of the negativity surrounding this company, but after looking at these offerings how can you blame them?

Yeah, there is a lot of negativity. I did wish they showed off some new stuff, but the Zombie stuff is cool. Also McFarlane will be showing stuff off at NYCC I'm sure, so there is a bright side. I'll pass on Nightwing and Batman V2 but I'll get the Zombies and Flash. I hope McFarlane kills it at NYCC.

I'll say this. There were no viruses involved with making the Zombies or any supernatural stuff. I think its why it took DC so long to do it. It was different.

TNI is reporting that they've gotten confirmation from McFarlane that they won't be showing DC figures at NYCC.

The Batman Who Laughs looks nice in the Animated style. Very curious for the Hush and especially the Talon assassin though.

Yeah, I wish I could not be negative towards DC, but they haven't done anything to show me otherwise.

As for McFarlane, if the rumors are true, it's 90% Batman stuff, so nothing on the bright side for me. All I care about at this point is Flash and Jonah Hex.

Leo Primus 10-03-2019 02:13 PM

I honestly think it's not the arms being too long, but rather the torso being too short and narrow. I mean, the legs are as freakishly long.

MPT 10-04-2019 01:07 PM

I would but these figures if not for the stiff capes
