I forget...is the Alpha Predator based on some other work of fiction (comics, etc) or is it just a clever homage to the scrapped pre-Stan Winston design in the original movie?

As I recall it's a NECA original that pays homage to the creature's original design.

Got every single one of those boys except the Alpha. Can't wait to add him to the collection. The Alpha looks like he is made from Super Predator parts so am hoping we get Ultimate Super predators come 2020.

I'm guessing they didn't sell well enough to continue. There's so many I still wanted.

Just purely speculation.... But I was kinda disappointed in the White and Nerdy version, had he come with a segway or a roll of bubble wrap, that would've been awesome, plus the likeness on that one was kinda iffy from some angles, but I appreciate they were going for a specific look haha

Don't know why they went with one of the (IMHO) worst looks of Al. The classic 80's Al should have been first, get some capital, THEN start releasing music video versions, starting with Eat It Al, then FAT Al, and so on.
