Spin Master DC Toys
|
They look well done for what they are, kids should dig em. I'm curious to see how this split license works out.
Now, come on McFarlane, give us the goods. :) |
Those 4 inch figures have a certain charm I like, and those 12 inch figures have a rather nice base sculpt, though that's not a scale I collect.

"Hey Mattel, can we just copy your homework? Better yet, can we just have your molds?"
They look fine for another Batman line. Better than Playmates' horrible attempt at bootlegging Bandai's Godzilla vinyls. I hope McFarlane is going to go beyond just Batman and Superman though. It would be nice to get an actual Flash with Rogues line and other characters like Jonah Hex, Spectre, etc. |
4" stuff starting to show up on Amazon:
Batmobile https://www.amazon.com/BATMAN-Batmob...PP5BQWGHGKJA4Q Clayface/Batman/Batcycle https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1J1ZGPVYEG06HM |
You see, son, when a car and a boat love each other very much...
:) |
I think that Batmobile is from the Sean Murphy stuff minus the boat attachment. I have only read up to the MrFreeze one shot. The 4" stuff looks cool. It's under 10 bucks for a Batman figure. So that's decent

Man-Bat looks cute!
|
i might pick that batmobile up. it's straight out of the 'white knight' series. may get the 4 inch batman for the batmobile and nightwing since i'm a fan of the character. wonder how the blind bag figures look.
EDIT: EE has pictures of the blind bag figures. preposed little things. nevermind... |
12 inch looks nice to me. Just expand to some movie merch and since villains
|
I have to admit that I like the fact that these figures just popped up out of nowhere. It's like Jazwares and their Fortnite line. Normally, we see action figures months, if not years, in advance. It's nice being surprised by something and having them appear on shelves almost immediately.
As to the figures themselves, the proportions are a bit chunky, and they could use waist and wrist articulation, but they are cheaper than the 5 POA lines out there (and have better sculpting than a lot of them). I don't see anything I want to pick up, but I'm happy for people who do. |
I'm not asking for much. I would just like something like DC Legends (you can name it whatever you want, DC Icons was pretty good), similar quality, same size, same price range and available in Europe... Is that really so much to ask for? :-(
|
For figures aimed specifically at kids, they look pretty nice. I kinda like that golden Batman...I'm a sucker for iconic characters done up in off-model, oddball colors.
|
These do look nice but I'm looking forward to what The McFareline Toys 7 inch DC Comics Figures for all properties for TV Arrowverse , Movies DC Films , Videogames and Comics will look like when they come out. Hopefully some cool figures for the adult collector market will come out in that line. I do hope we get more Films and TV Figure like a Christopher Reeve Superman , a Brandon Routh Kingdom Come Superman from CW'S Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover and Supergirl from her CW Supergirl tv series also a Henry Cavill Superman figure as well. And all the DC Animated series I want figures from all those series released too. DC Comics comic book based figures I wish they would stick to the modern comics for figures but will see anything can happen. Excited for those figures. As for the spin master figures will have to wait and see those are more geared towards the kids market.

Spin Master, more like Spin Disaster!
Actually, no opinion. It's interesting they went with Man-Bat for a first wave villain. And mystery accessories? Renaissance Batman is not what I'd expect. |
These are for kiddies, hopefully they take out a branch for Adult collectibles
|
Spin Masters doing 4" and 12", McFarlane doing 7", I'm hoping that means DC Collectibles will start doing 6", Legends scale stuff. Last few years have been hell for DC collectors, the switch to Icons, then Essentials, the Mulitverse reminding me of the early Hasbro dark ages. 2020 looks like it'll have potential and bet kids are gonna love the Spin Master stuff, I'm definitely not the target demo, but they remind me of things I'd have loved playing with in the dirt.
The 4" and 12" scale only bums me because I've gotten into kitbashing and using some of the 6" basic stuff, finding a great head or spare part on a $5-10 figure was great. |

<yawn> Why does DC hate its own properties? They should just sell their company off to someone that respects their entire universe. |
12 inch Flash double knees looks interesting.

As 4 inch scale are pretty dry I'll likely pick those up and see how they are doing. I mean I know Hiya has injustice but I only see them in the local comic shop. I've also collected a bit of Mattel 12 inch line so Harley is an easy buy.
|
Great for kids. I’ll buy these as well. Love the batmobile. I was hoping for movie are animated show figures in that scale, but maybe mor is coming.

That's good news for both kids and collectors. The 4" line saves space while adding vehicles.
