Neca sdcc exclusive foot and shredder set is this real?

Trying to find out if this is real. Just recently bought this and it looked real. Just realized that it is coming from China which they concealed well on the site as I normally stay away from international shipments. I reached out to the seller who assured me it was 100% legitimate. I’m still skeptical but was wondering if this looks real or if I should just return it right away when I get it. Does NECA even ship from China? It’s New Jersey from what I understand. Thanks in advance!

So then there is no possible way this is real.....definitely fake? I complained on eBay and they said it is authentic and 100% real and that it comes directly from the factory and not a reproduction. Sounded bogus to me

All Neca stuff is made in china, but the fulfillment center they use is based in southern California. I've ordered over a dozen items from them. Never have they shipped direct from China. The factory puts the boxes into a giant shipping container (the type you see on Trains or cargo ships), places that on a truck. Truck goes to ship. Cargo gets lifted and placed on ship. Ship comes to USA. Cargo gets placed on new flatbed truck. Truck delivers to fulfillment center. Fulfillment center then sends product to customer. ONLY way this gets shipped from china to customer is any batches made under the table. That happens A LOT in China. So it definitely isn't a sanctioned product from NECA, however it very well might be made right along side legit stuff...

NECA's stuff is manufactured in China, so there is a chance that it is a legitimate item made at the real factory not in some guys garage or whatever. I know factories always run more than what a company orders, in case of error, defect, etc. When we had our first CD pressed, I received (and was billed for) 23 more than I had ordered. So, in theory, NECA's factory could have run a hundred more for bleed off and not shipped that hundred to the States, because of defect on the box or the product, or simply because they only ship actual ordered quantities. Then some slick, yet unsavory, character decides to help himself to the castoffs and sell them on eBay.

Another possibility is that it was made in the real factory using NECA's molds, but was not part of an authorized production run. Some good old fashioned late night, after hours piracy.

My roundabout point is that it COULD be a real set from the real factory, but I'm not sure that I would trust it. If it's coming direct from the factory, then that means it never was sent to NECA. Has to be a reason for that.

That is, of course, assuming that it is "authentic" and not a straight up bootleg. The pictures look fine to me, but I have no comparison.

Yea it’s still in transit and not in my hands yet. When I do receive it I’ll send some photos of it and see if I can figure it out. If I can’t I may just request a return and get my money back. I’ve wanted this set for a while but didn’t realize until it was too late that it was coming from China. Thanks again for the help.

If it's of any comfort, the product code (the number beginning with 367) and the UPC number are identical the numbers on the official item (I purchased my set straight from NECA during NYCC that year.) Just going off my previous experiences with KO items, usually those are details that bootleggers tend to ommit altogether or will be altered in some way.

Your item might be authentic...but as others have stated, could have been one that "fell off the truck" so to speak, or was rejected by the factory during final inspections. Neca didn't bother numbering these sets, so whether there were actually 3000 made, or 3000+ due to wash outs during the assembly process is anybody's guess.

Ok so I bought a few sets but the shredder and foot set is the one from china. But curious if all of these are real.....any help is much appreciated.
