One12 Mr. Freeze
|
This actually looks nice! Light-up features for such a small figure? That is pretty impressive. I can’t remember the last time I saw that in this scale.
|
The design is good, but there is too much grey
|
that $120 price tag though... Going to have to think on this one a bit.

As for this figure, this is $20 overpriced. If electronics cost that much, just don't use them. I don't see another $40 worth of value here. |

Overpriced, face looks a little too old, the quilt suit looks too real world. It's still gonna be hard to wait for the price to go down though.

In regards to the price, fully agree with you. I've just given up complaining now lol. I always felt Mezco was a tad overpriced for a 1/12. But, then again, perhaps its justifiable because of their use of mixed media for clothing and stuff? Maybe one character is just more intricate to design the clothing than another? P.S. I have their Armored Batman from the Justice League movie, and I must say that I did actually find that to be pretty impressive. I bought it sometime ago so cannot remember the exact pricing, but I am pretty sure it wasn't 120 USD though. |
They continue to price me out of collecting. Until Thanos, I was all in on the Marvel and DC available to me. i'm passing on this too. I'd potentially pay $120 for LOADS of useful accessories and headsculpts but a fairly bare bones figure with light up feature? #^*% that.

So, to put this in perspective, a light-up feature on a Mezco usually adds $20 to the price, from what we've seen from Cable and Cyclops and whatnot. So... what about this one accounts for the extra $15? It can't just be the big ice blast piece.
Figure looks great, but... that $120 is making me wary. Not entirely sure I'm gonna get it. |
Mezco is way out of hand on pricing. They must think they can get it, but this is out of hand now.
|
Looks cool (pun intended) but not $120 cool. By comparison, I like what I'm getting with the John Wick figure with the multiple weapons, dog, and the functioning trunk for weapon storage. In terms of heft and bulk, this feels very close to their Supreme Knight Batman, so maybe throw in $20 on top of that for the LEDs and $100-105 would've been a fair price.

Mezco's current pricing definitely makes you want to cherry-pick, so props to any Mr. Freeze fan who would still want this. I know I was happy with their Two-Face. |
Clearly not a lot of folks here that buy premium/high-end figures. Eventually prices go up. Happened with Sideshow, happened with Hot Toys, and now it's happening with Figuarts, MAFEX and Mezco.
Obviously there's little-to-no reuse on this figure, making it semi-unique and therefore raising the price. If you prefer another 40 Batman variants then save your money for those, but don't complain when they stop making figures that require a little bit more than the regular buck body and reused accessories. As for being "forced" to "cherry-pick", well, you're not being forced to do anything. If you don't like the price don't buy it, pretty simple. Not every high-end collector buys every high-end collectible. |

It does look really good though, and the same goes for John Wick.
- I agree that the price seems a little high on Mr. Freeze, but there is probably gonna be people more than willing to pay what it costs. |
It looks like Mr. Freeze is going to have his weapon come with a light up feature in it - so that's potentially bumping the price a bit. Also I think his light up feature in his suit is a little more intricate then what we got with Cable and Cyclops. I think the $120 price is a bit steep... $110 would've probably been more reasonable... but at the end of the day this is a character that's fairly unique in design and probably took a bit more effort to tailor. Some more accessories would've probably helped make the price feel more justifiable.

Nobody, myself included, likes to pay higher prices. The unfortunate reality is that over time prices go up. I’ve been collecting One:12s since the beginning when they cost $60-$65. If you look at the recent releases the prices have been $85-$95 for the regular releases. From what I’m reading here most people are unhappy about paying an extra $10-$20. This is a really nice figure. Are you guys willing to let it go for $10-$20? You could gamble and hope you can find it eventually online for less unless this is one of those figures that goes up. Am I thrilled to pay $120? Of course not. But I will pay it because I like this figure enough to justify it. PS: I just preordered Mr. Freeze from my local comic book shop. I’ll save a little that way as there’s no shipping and handling. Food for thought.

Production numbers will be interesting in the next year when we see how many are made for the figures now that everything requires an NRD. They definitely overproduced a lot of older ones. Quote:

Looks so much like JK Simmons, pretty hilarious in that context. Not worrying about picking this one up I'm not really digging their take on Fries.

Ohhh-Weee! You sonofva...I'm in!
